Job Description

This fixed-term contract role supports the smooth running of Batch processing on the Mainframe and Open Systems and reporting disruptions of service for applications and infrastructure.

Responsibilities

Responsible for the smooth running of batch, applications and infrastructure and is accountable for achieving results through own efforts with the assistance of defined operating procedures

Process the execution of production workflows and critical batch paths to ensure completion on time and in sequence, minimizing the risk of downtime and missed service level agreements (SLAs)

Fulfil 24 x 7/shift model first-line support across multiple platforms

Create temporary operational fixes to achieve Service Level Agreements.

Implement cost saving / optimisation initiatives

Participate in systems handover process (OSSP).

Acquires and applies knowledge of business processes, procedures, policies and practices

Communicates effectively regarding support related activities

Responsible for capacity monitoring

Pro-actively monitors and execute on the environments related to this discipline

Qualifications

Matric

ITIL Certification (Advantageous)

Experience

1-2 Years Information Technology experience

ITSO/ISPF, JCL (Job Control Language), Scheduling tools (Control M or similar), Distributed platforms/ECS (Advantageous)

Working Hours:

Support model includes 24x7 shift hours 4 shift structure.

You must be able to work flexible start times (shift - work) Monday -Thursday from 07h00 - 13:00, 13:00 –19:00 and 19:00—7:00, Friday - Sunday 07:00 - 19:00 and 19:00 - 07:00.  

This will be reviewed from time to time, based on business requirements.
