About the job:

Kent is looking for an Undergraduate Electrical Engineering Intern for Summer 2025. This is a full-time, on-site internship based at our Trinidad office, with a standard work schedule of 8 hours per day, Monday to Friday, for a total duration of 8 weeks. This is a valuable opportunity to gain practical experience supporting engineering deliverables for brownfield scopes while being mentored by experienced engineering professionals in a dynamic project environment.

Skills and Responsibilities:

Responsibilities:

Assist in the compilation of electrical work packs for brownfield scopes.Support preparation and updates of Bills of Materials.Assist in the sourcing of materials and contacting suppliers.Interface with various engineering disciplines within the office.Help produce reports to support the successful execution of brownfield scopes.Familiarize with and apply company and client standards, including IEC or NEC codes, in documentation.Attend internal meetings; take and organize meeting minutes and track action items.Assist with office errands and ad hoc duties such as delivering/collecting equipment or supplies.Maintain a weekly learning journal or progress log.Prepare and deliver a final presentation or report summarizing your contributions, learning outcomes, and recommendations.

In addition to the responsibilities listed herein, the employee may be required to perform other ad-hoc tasks as needed or directed by the supervisor or management. These tasks will be within the reasonable scope of the employee's skills, capabilities, and role within the organization. The intent of this provision is to allow for flexibility and adaptability in meeting the dynamic needs of the organization, ensuring that operational requirements can be met efficiently. All such tasks will be assigned considering the employee's current workload and with respect to their professional development.

Your knowledge/skills, education, and experience:

Knowledge / Qualification / Training / Certification:

Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.Strong academic performance (preferably equivalent to a GPA of 3.0 or higher).Must be legally authorized to work in Trinidad and Tobago.

Communication:

Strong oral and written communication skills (including technical writing).

Behavior / Core Competencies:

Basic knowledge of engineering concepts with an ability to apply them to real-world problems.Proficient with Microsoft Office and capable of learning new software programs as needed.Ability to interpret engineering codes, standards, and practices.Demonstrated planning, project coordination, and organizational skills.
