Job Description
We are seeking an entry-level Jr Manual Firmware Tester to join our long-term project team onsite in Raleigh, NC. This is an excellent opportunity to leverage your technical Associate’s degree and gain real-world experience in a high-tech environment, particularly with a leader in IoT connected metering devices for the public utilities market. ResponsibilitiesExecute test cases to ensure data accuracy, connectivity, and functionality.Identify and report firmware update issues, software bugs, and VPN connectivity problems.Collaborate with the development team to understand product requirements.Perform basic networking and programming tasks to support testing activities.Document test results and create detailed reports on findings.Participate in troubleshooting and triaging of issues with different teams to drive towards root cause identification and resolution.Ensure that testing activities are conducted in accordance with the testing strategy and plan.Essential SkillsAssociate's degree in a technical field (e.g., Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering).Basic understanding of networking and programming concepts.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently.Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with testing tools and software.Knowledge of metering or software troubleshooting is a plus.Basic scripting knowledge (e.g., Python, Bash).Understanding of network protocols and connectivity troubleshooting.Work Environment
The position is onsite in Raleigh, NC, where you will work alongside experienced engineers in an R&D environment. The role offers a long-term engagement with benefits including 2 weeks of PTO and holidays according to the company schedule.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr.
