Responsibilities POSITION SUMMARY: The line inspector ensures the production of high-quality eggs by removing shells from eggs and discarding cracked, discolored, and distorted eggs. This position has the responsibility to comply with safety work rules at all times as well as an obligation to reinforce safety as a core value. Ensure that all policies, procedures, and activities related to food safety & quality are followed and complied with uniformly to reduce product and process variability. ACITIVITIES: Team player who aligns and upholds our values: Teamwork, Accountability, Innovation and Continuous Improvement and passion for customer and consumers Attendance is essential to perform duties Attend and actively participate in safety meetings and trainings Always ensure regulatory compliance Remove remnants of shell from eggs that processor missed. Separate eggs based on product quality including size, color, and wholeness. Prevent broken/defective eggs from continuing along the operations line. Dispose of eggshells and broken eggs in specified buckets. Inspect eggs efficiently to keep production on schedule. Report any problems with machines to supervisor. Excellent attention to detail Ensure that all eggs used in production maintain a high level of quality. Assume personal responsibility to ensure a safe and healthy workplace for everyone. Adhere to all safety policies/procedures and incorporate safety and health in all job duties/tasks Adhere to safe work practices, follows GMP and HACCP guidelines, maintains sanitary conditions and ensures that product quality is maintained. Report any conditions or practices that may adversely affect employee safety or food safety/quality to management immediately Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS: High school diploma, general education degree (GED) or equivalent years of experience preferred Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume and distance. Ability to read a limited number of two-and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Workers are required to wear proper PPE such as hair nets, ear plugs, and certain areas require earmuffs Hand-eye coordination is essential Ability to tolerate constant motion and strong odors Ability to stand for long periods of time in changing temperatures Must be able to climb one step platform Job rotation required. Ability to ascend and descend stairs The pay range for this position is $16.80 to $19.00 per hour.
