**Responsibilities:** + Accountable for the safe operation and maintenance of the hospital's electrical systems and equipment including generators, fire alarm, overhead paging system and nurse call. + Inspect and test lighting, signal communication, control and power circuits and equipment. + Install new wiring and electrical machinery. + Isolate and repair/replace defective wiring, switches, motors and other electrical equipment. + Maintain clean and safe work area, equipment rooms and shop areas. + Operate and maintain switchgear and electrical machinery. + Perform all work following infection control procedures. + Record personal work orders and submit hours to supervisor in a daily basis. + Repair and/or install conduit, fittings, motors, generators transformers, electrical wiring and a variety of appliances and hospital equipment. + High school diploma or GED required. + Trade school or trade specific multi-discipline certificate required. + Military experience considered. + 2 years' experience as an Electrician working in a healthcare or commercial building environment. **Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:** Driver's License + Driver's License + Act 34 + OAPSA **UPMC is an Equal Opportunity Employer/Disability/Veteran**
