Your Role

 

The role of Assistant Merchandiser sits in our friendly and forward-thinking Merchandising department where you will support the Merchandising team to land the stock strategy, in line with the planning of the Business/Trading teams.

 

Deliver a seasonal range framework using sales & profit analysis and feed-in from internal and external parties to predict future opportunity. Ensure the range is delivered to hit financial plans, adjusting as required as the critical path progresses Monitor performance of range against the original plan through reforecasting and take action to drive additional opportunity and minimise risk. Be accountable for your department plans. Work closely with Suppliers to share seasonal strategies and plans. Present your plans to key stakeholders in critical path meetings using reasoned arguments & rationale to deliver sign off. Be accountable for your departments forecasting and resulting actions, striving for high accuracy and using all available data to inform views. Working with the Buyers, be accountable for the progression of the range ensuring on-time, profitable ranges. Working alongside Supply Chain and Planning team to ensure stock is bought into the business with consideration to cash flow and capacity. Be accountable for stocks being in the right virtual warehouse/location to maximise availability and full price sell through. Optimise the current season though OTB management and proactively address terminal stock risk, determining the most profitable solutions. Hold accountability for the Department WSSI, driving business-wide visibility of all KPIs. Be accountable for ensuring markdown items are identified and prices agreed within parameters.

 

About You:

 

From a technical and operational perspective, it would also be advantageous if you have:

 

Buying/Merchandising or Fashion related degree or work experience equivalent  Demonstrated ability and UK experience working as an Assistant Merchandiser or as a Trainee / Admin Assistant Merchandiser within a fashion business An affinity for data and number analysis Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills High standard of commercial acumen Excellent planning and organisation skills  Able to adapt at speed Will have a proactive approach and strong initiative Strong negotiation, presentation and influencing skills

Where will you be working?

This is a full time, onsite role based at ‘The Barn’ -  Joules’ purpose built Head Office in Market Harborough, Leicestershire. 

This role is office based and requires 5 days a week working onsite, as we believe this is where we make the best decisions together.
