Jointing School Trainer

Your contribution to Prysmian's Success:  

We are looking for a Jointing School Trainer to join our team in Eastleigh. You’ll be responsible providing technical and leadership development for UK population of jointers. 

You will be responsible for:

To maintain legal compliance and representative status of Jointing school area.  

Prepare and maintain Risk Assessments 

Ensure fire warden cover and First aid Cover during training activities  

Ensure compliance / maintenance of jointing school equipment (LEV, PAT, etc)  

Deliver setting to work and Toolbox talks as required for School activities  

Provide a training and certification to Prysmian UK and oversea trainees and Jointers for 33kV-275kV AC, XLPE and 33kV-400kV AC Fluid Filled. Including external technical training (SETA welding, Furse etc)

To provide a training in support of accreditation to Prysmian UK and oversea trainees and Jointers for 400kV AC and 525kV DC taking place in Quattordio.  

Maintain certification and register records. Maintain and produce syllabus for training courses  

Carry out reviews of jointers performance in support of Jointing Operation Manager.  

Non routinely attend installation site as technical support and authority  

Prepare technical reports within the permitter and support preparation for activities outside of the scope of the role. 

Collaborate with other Prysmian jointing schools to maintain continues improvement.  

Support of R&D activities within HV labs  

Supervision and technical support of HV Labs activities during period of decreased training demand. 

You are the right fit if you have/are: 

Hold knowledge of electrical and mechanical engineering as they apply to accessory design and assembly.

Valid UK Drivers license  

Preferably level 3 trainer  

Extensive experience of preparing the full range of the Company’s joints, terminations and other accessories, with a wide variety of cables, including those from other suppliers.

Ability to be able to pass this knowledge, verbally and in writing to all levels of jointing personnel is essential.

Excellent communication and relationship building skills

Sound working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
