About the Job

We are currently seeking a Job Captain to lead the production of tenant improvement projects, with a strong focus on retail and restaurant design. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and enjoys balancing hands-on design work with team leadership. You’ll be responsible for producing comprehensive construction documents, mentoring junior team members, and ensuring project milestones are met from concept through completion.

Job ResponsibilitiesApply markups and redlining to construction documents on a daily basis.Lead design projects and collaborate with teams of 5–10 people.Oversee project scheduling, deadlines, and client communication.Mentor junior team members and support their professional growth.Ensure accuracy and timely completion of daily, weekly, and monthly goals.Balance design responsibilities with team management and delegation.Collaborate with colleagues across departments, including Project Specialists.Conduct site visits and assist with surveying selected locations.Job RequirementsProficiency in AutoCAD with 1–5 years of experience in an architecture firm.Ability to produce a full set of construction documents.At least 2 years of experience in tenant improvement projects.3 years of experience as a Job Captain in a commercial architecture setting.Basic knowledge of schematic layouts for restaurant and retail design.Strong communication and leadership skills.Team-oriented and detail-focused.Preferred QualificationsExperience with Revit.Background in healthcare architecture is a plus.Ability to support healthcare project bids.BenefitsMedical, dental, and vision insurance.401(k) retirement plan.Paid time off, sick leave, and holidays.Half-day every other Friday.One work-from-home day per month.Support for professional development and license renewal.Opportunities to work on a variety of project types across multiple departments.Diversity, Equity & Inclusion

Workplace Type

This position is based in San Francisco, CA, with in-office work required 5 days a week and one remote day per month.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $38.46 - $40.87/hr.

Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job
