We’re currently seeking a Jira System Administrator to join our team at Joint Base Langley-Eustis in Hampton, VA. This pivotal role supports the Air Combat Command’s Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance Major Command—a unique opportunity to contribute meaningfully to national security missions.
What You’ll Do
As a Jira System Administrator, you’ll be at the heart of our technical operations—enhancing and maintaining the unit’s Target Production Management System. You’ll collaborate across internal teams and external partners, driving technical excellence and mission success. Your responsibilities will include:
Architecting custom Jira/Confluence projects, workflows, permission schemes, field configurations, automations, and dashboardsManaging secure access controls and performing security audits to safeguard system integrityPerforming database reviews to ensure consistent field usage and accurate reporting; resolving data issues across teamsCreating JQL filters and custom Confluence pages that enhance productivity and visibilityProviding Tier II/III troubleshooting, guidance, and support to users and fellow Jira AdminsImproving, automating, and optimizing Jira/Confluence processes to drive efficiencyLeading training sessions to empower end-users with the skills to thrive using Atlassian tools
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree with 4+ years of relevant experience (additional experience may substitute for degree)Hands-on experience administering Jira/ConfluenceDeep understanding of Jira’s architecture (workflows, permissions, notifications, screens, etc.)Advanced skill in writing complex custom JQL filtersSharp analytical mindset and a passion for process improvementStrong communication skills and the ability to convey technical concepts clearlyA current TS/SCI security clearancePreferred Qualifications:
