JIRA Support Analyst
Position Title: Jira Support Analyst Position Overview: The Jira Support Analyst plays a critical role in supporting Agile software development teams by ensuring effective use of Jira and Confluence across the full software development lifecycle (SDLC). This role focuses on delivering actionable reporting, guiding teams on Agile practices, and maintaining transparency of project progress for government stakeholders. The Analyst ensures tasks are completed within scope and timelines while promoting Jira system standardization, quality data visualization, and user training. Key Responsibilities: + Design and maintain Jira dashboards and reports to reflect project progress, highlight outstanding tasks, and present status updates to senior government officials. + Update and maintain epics, features, and hierarchies across multiple projects based on leadership guidance, including adjusting start/stop dates, capturing risks, and noting mitigation strategies. + Facilitate requirements gathering sessions, record detailed meeting notes, and document decisions in Confluence. + Standardize Jira configurations by analyzing and documenting existing Jira project hierarchies across teams. + Develop and publish content in Confluence to outline and maintain SDLC documentation. + Perform data validation and testing in Business Intelligence tools, ensuring accurate reflection of Jira data. + Support Agile ceremonies (e.g., standups, retrospectives) and serve as a champion for Agile practices across teams. + Deliver user support and training for Jira/Confluence users and promote best practices within the enterprise environment. Core Skills and Competencies: + Jira/Confluence Expertise: Proven experience managing and optimizing Atlassian tools to support SDLC and team collaboration. + Data Visualization & Reporting: Ability to build meaningful dashboards, reports, and visual tools to support performance insights; familiarity with Tableau preferred. + Agile Methodologies: Strong background in Agile frameworks (SAFe, Scrum), with relevant certifications such as Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or SAFe Agilist. + Customer-Oriented Problem Solving: Skilled in translating customer requirements into technical solutions, with a focus on usability and actionable outcomes. + Analytical Thinking: Investigate and resolve data discrepancies within Jira, understanding parent-child relationships and their downstream effects. + Strong Communication: Comfortable leading meetings, conducting training, and presenting to both technical teams and executive stakeholders. + Collaboration & Documentation: Detail-oriented in documenting requirements, hierarchies, and lifecycle artifacts in Confluence. Required Qualifications: + Education/Experience: + Bachelor's degree + 6 years of experience, or + Master’s degree + 3 years, or + No degree with 15 years of relevant experience in IT or government program management. + Technical Expertise: + Experience modifying complex applications based on specs and discrepancy reports. + Deep understanding of NSG TPED (Tasking, Processing, Exploitation, Dissemination) mission. + Proficient in Jira, Confluence, and Tableau. Security Clearance: + Active TS/SCI clearance required. Will consider TS with SCI eligibility. Work Location: + 100% Onsite in Springfield, VA. (Currently in Chantilly) + Occasional work in Chantilly, VA may be required.
