The MSIM Technology team partners with Investment Management businesses to develop and implement innovative data-driven solutions. The team is responsible for ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and efficiency of investment data across the enterprise.
Position Overview:
MSIM is expected to grow by scaling Alternative Businesses. To facilitate scalable growth of the business and expected efficiencies, the Private Alternative Technology Team is making strategic investments through Project Horizon, which is a key MSIM program. This role will be assigned to Private Alternatives Operations and IM Finance technology initiatives to provide technology coverage to Operations and leading horizon related efforts supporting Hedging BU/Capital Markets.
Activities would involve onboarding new funds and businesses (PE Solutions and Secondaries) onto various platforms (C&V, HedgeInteg, ChathamDirect), building integration points with external service providers for strategic data sourcing etc. Role will be Sr. lead developer primarily for Hedge Analytics Platform / Capital Markets initiatives around counterparty and service providers fees sourcing/reporting, leading the technology architecture, design, code reviews, own complete SDLC process and manage local FTC resources.
Strong interpersonal skills and team spirit is required in addition to proficiency in verbal and written business communications. This job demands strong work ethic and ability to handle multiple priorities. We support what we build - you will be responsible for post-production support in addition to active development.Role Description:Location: Mumbai/BangaloreExperience range: 7 to 10 yearsResponsibilities:7+ years of experience in Java/Scala and UI Development (preferably Angular).Participate in all aspects of the SDLC (analysis, design, coding testing & implementation)Work with onshore and offshore team members from IT, Ops & BusinessAnalyze business requirements; write functional and minor development specificationsCode solutions that meet the business requirements in a timely and accurate mannerFollow and improve existing coding standards and best practicesCapability to approach problems as challenges and deal with them positively and constructively.Sets an example for team members in the following manner: hard work, a focus on client delivery, preparedness, organization, a positive attitude and respect for others.Primary Skills / Must have Strong in Core Java and Scala.Good knowledge of relational databasesExperience in Spring and Hibernate.Knowledge of Web services REST.Good to have experience in Angular.Working knowledge of Unix/Linux.Detail oriented, ability to turn deliverables around quickly with high degree of accuracyStrong analytical skills, ability to interpret business requirements and produce functional and technical design documentsGood time management skills – ability to prioritize and multi-task, handling multiple efforts at onceStrong desire to understand and learn domain.Knowledge of Release/Build tools like Gradle/Maven and exposure to DevOps.Nice to have Skill:Understanding and aspiration of designing, building, maintaining large scale data platforms including but not limited to Data Warehouses, Data Marts, Feeds Platforms, ETL Tools. Strategic thinking in designing domain specific data models and manage controlled changes to data model with ability to track dependencies.Exposure in building BI Dashboards and Reports using one of the modern toolset (Power BI, Tableau, Business Objects).Ability to design and build Data API’s utilizing programming languages like Java for consumptions purpose.Effectively collaborate with project team to understand the requirements, analyze them and apply new technologies to implement optimal solutions.Strong problem-solving skills with ability to analyze and understand dataExcellent oral and written communication skills, ability to communicate clearly and conciselyInclination towards Financial domain knowledge with strong data and business analysis skills.Exposure to development and secured data movement in Azure Cloud Environment and Snowflake
