We have an exciting opportunity for an exceptional individual to work supporting one of our client **Key Responsibilities** + Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-level backend systems using Java. + Build and consume RESTful APIs and integrate with messaging systems like Kafka. + Work with distributed caching and compute frameworks such as Hazelcast. + Manage data persistence using Oracle and/or MS SQL databases. + Deploy and manage microservices in Kubernetes containers. + Utilize Vert.x for reactive programming and high-performance applications. + Implement and maintain functional test automation frameworks. + Ensure secure development practices including authentication, authorization, and secure gateway design. + Collaborate with DevOps teams to design and implement CI/CD pipelines. + Apply GenAI tools and techniques to enhance backend capabilities and automation. + Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and cross-functional team discussions. **Required Skills** + 4–5 years of hands-on experience in Java backend development. + Strong knowledge of REST APIs, Kafka, Hazelcast, and Kubernetes. + Experience with Vert.x or similar reactive frameworks. + Proficiency in Oracle and/or MS SQL databases. + Familiarity with functional testing automation frameworks. + Solid understanding of secure coding practices and gateway security. + Experience designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines. + Practical experience with GenAI tools and frameworks. **Preferred Qualifications** + Experience in the payments domain is a strong plus. + Exposure to Agile/Scrum methodologies. + Strong problem-solving and communication skills. **Why Cognizant?** Improve your career in one of the largest and fastest growing IT services providers worldwide Receive ongoing support and funding with training and development plans Have a highly competitive benefits and salary package Get the opportunity to work for leading global companies We are committed to respecting human rights and build a better future by helping your minds and the environment We invest in people and their wellbeing.
