Responsibilities:
Japan Indirect Procurement LeaderLead a team of 2-3 buyers to manage Indirect procurement activities in JapanPartner with local business, operation, functions to align procurement strategies with local operational needs.Deliver cost-saving targets and other KPI and manage supplier performance (quality, delivery, service).Manage team performance, provide team training and coachingRepresent Japan in regional procurement leadership team
2. Senior MROC Category Buyer (Capital, MRO(Maintenance, Repair and Operation), site service, R&D, Environmental, etc.)
Develop and implement the category strategies for the responsible categoriesContinuously explore more project opportunities and drive progress of the existing projectsEnsure timely resolution of issues related to responsible categories and implement root cause analysis and corrections to avoid future incidenceAssist global category buyer by participating or leading strategic negotiations, or managing relationships with strategic suppliers at local when neededCapital category related:Understanding the Capex/Capital project and establishing the procurement strategies as considering the project budget and scheduleCoordinate internal discussions (including Business, PJT Team, Legal and related functions) to reach agreement on desired contract needs and outcomeLead commercial negotiations with suppliers to consider impact on Cost/Quality/Delivery/Support and desired contract needsWork Experience
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree or above in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or related field
• 10+ years of procurement or supply chain experience, including 5+ years in team management
• Expertise in Indirect procurement and MROC categories (Capital, MRO, R&D, Site service, etc.)
• Fluent in both written and oral English.
• Cross-functional collaboration experience, strong influence & communication & interpersonal skills
• Excellent network with Japanese suppliers and understand the local market dynamics/ regulations
Preferred
• Proven experience in EPC procurement (construction, equipment/facilities, design & Engineering, etc.) Project Procurement Manager (PPM)
• Experience working in multinational corporations
