Japan Digital Workplace Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Digital Workplace Engineer to join our IT Infrastructure Services team. This role is responsible for modernizing, managing, and supporting our fleet of Windows 10 and Windows 11 laptops and ensuring a secure, efficient, and user-friendly digital workplace experience. You will leverage your deep expertise in SCCM, Group Policy, and modern endpoint management tools to drive continuous improvement and standardization of our end-user computing environment.

Job Responsibilities

Roles and Responsibilities:

Design, deploy, and manage endpoint management solutions for Windows 10 and Windows 11 devices. Maintain and optimize Microsoft SCCM/MECM infrastructure for application deployment, patching, and compliance. Develop and manage Group Policy Objects (GPOs) to enforce security and configuration baselines. Lead modernization initiatives including Autopilot, Co-Management and the migration to modern management tools such as Intune Troubleshoot OS deployment task sequences, images, and related automation. Implement and maintain software packaging, distribution, and update processes. Monitor endpoint health and performance, troubleshoot complex issues, and provide escalation support. Support the adoption of DEX tools to optimize the support model and colleague experience Collaborate with security teams to ensure endpoint compliance with organizational policies and industry best practices. Document processes, configurations, and procedures, ensuring knowledge sharing within the team. Evaluate and recommend new technologies and tools (or optimize existing) to enhance the digital workplace experience Collaborate with other Infrastructure teams, IT Application teams and AIG business colleagues in Japanese and English in pursuit of the outcomes noted above. Support oversight of external partners Engage in incident analysis and resolution efforts as they may pertain to endpoint engineering Aligned with corporate direction, actively participate and support the forward advancement and increased leveraging of modern technologies to further improve the AIG colleague experience Various project and BAU collaborations to support efforts to further improve the digital workplace colleague experience at AIG

Required Skills and Experiences

Educational Qualification

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field preferableAdvanced degree and / or industry certifications would be desirable

Specific Qualifications

5+ years of experience in endpoint management, desktop engineering, or a similar role, ideally in a large multinational organization. Native or fluent Japanese (spoken, reading and writing) and fluent English (spoken, reading and writing); other languages are a plus Proven expertise with Microsoft SCCM/MECM (deployment, patching, reporting, troubleshooting). Strong hands-on experience with Windows 10 and Windows 11 OS configuration, deployment, and troubleshooting. In-depth knowledge of Group Policy design, implementation, and troubleshooting. Experience with Active Directory, Azure Active Directory, and modern endpoint management tools (e.g., Microsoft Intune, Autopilot) is a plus. Proficiency with PowerShell scripting for automation and task orchestration. Solid understanding of endpoint security best practices. Experience with implementing and adopting DEX tools is a plus Experience working in large-scale, enterprise environments. Excellent problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills. Relevant certifications (e.g., MD-102, MD-101, SCCM/MECM, Microsoft 365 Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate) are a plus. Continuous learner of new technologies and how these can be applied to the AIG environment to improve the colleague experience, in line with corporate guidelines and direction
