Creation Vancouver is seeking a dedicated, reliable Janitor / Building Custodian (6-month contract) to join our Facilities team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and safety of interior and exterior facilities, and surrounding grounds. This includes performing various cleaning and minor maintenance tasks to ensure a professional and welcoming environment for employees and visitors. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, proactive, self-starter and willing to take on additional tasks as required.

Key Responsibilities:Clean and sanitize reception, office areas, meeting/board rooms, washrooms and fixtures, breakrooms, other common areas as assignedSweeping, mopping, polishing, waxing, and vacuuming floorsOperate industrial vacuum cleaners to remove scraps, dirt, heavy debris and other refuseEmpty trash and recycling bins and ensure proper disposalDust and polish furniture, fixtures, and equipmentClean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors, etc.Mixing and using industrial cleaning solutions as applicableReplenish supplies in restrooms and breakroomsPerform minor maintenance and repairs as neededClean snow/ice from walkways and parking areasReport any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the Facilities LeaderFollow established safety procedures and guidelinesAssist with setting up and breaking down for meetings and eventsMaintain inventory of cleaning supplies and request new supplies as neededTasks as assigned by Facilities LeaderQualifications:High school diploma or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.Previous experience as janitor, cleaner, building maintenance, or in a similar role cleaning residential, commercial, office propertiesKnowledge of sanitation/cleaning processes and equipment, cleaning chemicals, proper storage, and disposal methodsKnowledge of proper personal protective equipment use for various tasksKnowledge of safe food handling a plusStrong attention to detail, ensuring clean and safe environmentCommitment to quality, safety, and customer serviceGood communication skills (verbal and written) and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.Strong time management and prioritization skills to cover multiple designated areas per dayAbility to safely lift materials up to 50lbs, safely handle heavy equipment / machineryFlexibility to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as requiredWorking Conditions:The position entails prolonged standing, walking, bending, twisting, lifting, stooping, kneeling, squatting, etc. Use of ladders may be required.Repetitive motionsExposure to cleaning chemicals and other materials used in janitorial work.May need to work in various indoor and outdoor environments, and weather conditions.May move heavy furniture, equipment and supplies.What you need to know:You need to be legally eligible to work in British Columbia, Canada for any employerShift: Day, Monday to Friday 7AM-3:30PMWage: $21.00 per hourWork location: 8999 Fraserton Court, Burnaby, BC V5J 5H8This is a fixed term full-time position, for 6 monthsWhat's in it for you:Well-lit, clean, climate-controlled workplace; regular full time schedule; transit accessible siteCompany events, Health and Wellness initiatives, on-site gym facility, wellness walks on the Fraser Foreshore Trail within steps from the facility
