Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated IV Pharmacy Technician responsible for mixing IV and other pharmaceutical preparations using proper sterile compounding techniques. The role requires adherence to all documented instructions, warnings, and procedures to ensure the safe and effective preparation of drugs. The technician will perform environmental monitoring, sanitation, and testing as required by federal and state pharmacy regulations and USP-797.
ResponsibilitiesMix IV and pharmaceutical preparations using sterile compounding techniques.Adhere to documented instructions, procedures, and best practices for drug preparation.Perform environmental monitoring, sanitation, and testing per applicable regulations.Maintain accurate drug inventory through purchasing, receiving, stocking, and tracking.Enter home medication lists and lab results into CPR+ for patient profiles.Clean ante-room and clean room according to USP-797 standards.Maintain clean room logs and verify lot numbers.Assist with On-Call responsibilities as needed.Complete competency verification upon hire and annually thereafter.Understand and comply with confidentiality and HIPAA guidelines regarding PHI and EPHI.Essential SkillsCertified Pharmacy TechnicianCompounding skillsIV preparationDocumentation and inventory management skillsProficiency in data entryAdditional Skills & QualificationsState registered as a pharmacy technicianPharmacy Technician certification preferredExperience as a pharmacy technician preferredHome infusion therapy experience preferredStrong organizational and prioritization skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamEffective communication skillsProficiency with Windows and Office softwareWork Environment
The position is based in a closed-door pharmacy environment with a team of five people. The dress code is business casual. The standard work shift is Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, with on-call responsibilities on weekends every three weeks.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $29.00/hr.
