IT Technician

The Great Bear project is a development-stage asset located in the renowned and prolific Red Lake mining district, and represents one of the most exciting recent gold discoveries globally.  The project has excellent potential to become a top-tier deposit that could support a large, long-life mine complex. Kinross’ comprehensive exploration and development program will aim to support the vision of a quality, high-grade, open-pit mine and a longer-term, sizeable underground mine.

Job Summary

You will be responsible for supporting the Great Bear Site with superior customer service and technical expertise to maintain high standards that ensure the technology needs are satisfied, and IT requests are resolved in a timely manner at the Kinross Great Bear Site.

Key Responsibilities Assist with hardware and software maintenance, device setup, service and telecommunication assistance. Installation of new equipment, respond to service requests and troubleshoot equipment issues. Support the team with hardware refreshers by providing maintenance as needed. Configure, install, and deploy both wired and wireless devices. Prepare instructional material for end users and provide training when required. Assist with employee onboarding and offboarding process. Ensure company IT policies and security practices are adhered to. Troubleshoot and determine the root cause of connectivity issues. . Post secondary education in a related field, and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience within a similar role and/or in the mining induatry is perferred. 

 

Possess Valid Driver’s license. Proficient with Windows desktop and server operating system software. Familiarity with common desktop software applications with emphasis on Microsoft Office Suite. Familiarity with Microsoft Teams, Intune, and Autopilot. Comprehends and capable of interpreting technical language.

 

This position is a 5X2 rotation, and is located in Red Lake, Ontario.
