Direct Placement Role: IT Systems Engineer Compensation: $Up to $90,000/yr. plus benefits, commensurate with experience Location: 100% Remote Position Description: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced IT Systems Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role is crucial for maintaining and enhancing our IT infrastructure, ensuring the smooth operation of our systems, and providing robust support to our end-users. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a proactive approach to system management. Responsibilities: + System Management: Build, support, patch, and back up Windows-based servers (primarily Windows Server 2022), including critical applications like Active Directory and file servers. + Virtualization: Manage and support virtual machines within a VMware environment. + Cloud Infrastructure: Set up, manage, and troubleshoot servers in cloud environments, specifically AWS and Azure, with familiarity in services such as Azure VMs, EC2 instances, and Azure AD Connect. + Endpoint Management: Provide strong troubleshooting and support for both Windows and Mac-based computers. + Automation & Scripting: Utilize ConnectWise Automate for patching computers and developing automation scripts. + Scripting: Develop and maintain scripts using PowerShell for system administration tasks. + Backup & Recovery: Implement and manage backup solutions, with a strong focus on Veeam and Azure backup. + Communication: Effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, both verbally and in writing. Qualifications: + Experience: A minimum of seven (7) years of progressive experience in IT systems administration and support. + Technical Expertise: + Extensive experience troubleshooting Windows-based computers. + Extensive experience troubleshooting Mac-based computers. + Strong knowledge of Windows-based servers, including building, supporting, patching, and backing up. + Proficiency with Windows Server 2022, Active Directory, and file server administration. + Proven experience with physical and cloud-based servers (AWS, Azure), including setting up and managing VMs (Azure VMs, EC2 instances) and Azure AD Connect. + Demonstrated experience with VMware virtualization. + Strong working knowledge of ConnectWise Automate, including patching computers and scripting within the platform. + Proficiency in PowerShell scripting. + Experience with backup solutions, particularly Veeam and Azure backup. Nice-to-Haves: + Experience with SQL servers. + Experience with Linux servers. Education: + Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
