We are currently looking for an **IT System Engineer** to strengthen our team at **Grid Software** in **Beersel** , supporting secure and resilient control systems for electrical power transmission for our clients.
**Your tasks**
+ **Set up** , **test** and **harden** Linux- and Windows-based IT systems used in energy transmission
+ **Maintain** and **tune** server operating systems (Red Hat, VMware, Windows Server)
+ **Manage** firewalls and switches (Cisco, Fortinet) including tuning and configuration
+ **Configure** and **document** infrastructure tools like Veeam Backup and McAfee
+ **Administer** security controls such as firewalls and GPOs to safeguard IT environments
+ **Develop** and **implement** maintenance and patch management strategies
+ **Support** acceptance tests (FAT / SAT) with customers
+ **Contribute** to technical solutions and evolve infrastructure capabilities
+ **Collaborate** with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment with project requirements
**Your skills**
+ Degree in **Computer Science** or a comparable technical field
+ Proven **experience managing enterprise IT/OT environments** on Linux and Windows
+ Familiarity with **script-based programming** (e.g. Bash) and **virtualization tools** (e.g. ESXi)
+ Strong knowledge of **IT network design** and cybersecurity in industrial settings
+ Fluent in **French, English and Dutch**
+ Experience with **cloud and containerized solutions**
+ Basic knowledge of **project management methodologies**
+ Willingness to travel occasionally for **1–2 week deployments**
