Description
The IT Support Specialist provides Tier 1 and Tier 2 technical support across the organization. This role is responsible for resolving escalated technical issues involving hardware, software, networking, and peripheral devices. Responsibilities include rotational coverage of the support phone queue to manage overflow, high-priority, and escalated calls, ensuring timely and effective resolution. The Specialist also collaborates with Tier 1 staff to enhance knowledge sharing and contributes to continuous improvement of IT support processes and service quality.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a related field
+ Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) and Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS) certifications
+ Minimum of 2 years of experience troubleshooting PCs, printers, phones, and infrastructure issues
Essential Duties:
+ Troubleshoot and resolve escalated issues related to hardware, software, networking, mobile devices, and peripherals (e.g., printers, scanners). Escalate unresolved issues to Tier 3 or engineering teams with detailed documentation.
+ Monitor systems and ticket queues. Participate in post-incident reviews and apply findings to prevent recurrence.
+ Manage hardware and software inventory using asset management tools. Assist with imaging, configuration, deployment, and compliance with organizational standards and security policies.
+ Provide rotational coverage of the support phone queue. Handle overflow and high-priority calls, ensuring proper escalation and resolution.
+ Ensure all configurations and resolutions comply with IT policies, change control procedures, and security best practices. Support patch management, software deployments, and infrastructure changes.
Additional Responsibilities:
+ Perform assigned tasks independently with minimal supervision
+ Prioritize, document, and close incidents effectively
+ Take corrective actions or escalate issues to minimize downtime
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Windows 10/11, Office 365, Active Directory, SCCM, Entra, and Intune
+ Strong understanding of networking, wireless, and telecommunications fundamentals
+ Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
+ Effective verbal and written communication skills
+ Customer service-oriented with a high level of responsiveness and resourcefulness in a fast-paced environment
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr.
