IT Support Specialist

 

SUMMARY
The IT Support Specialist provides technical assistance to Company computer users, researches and answers questions or resolves computer problems for Company employees in person, or via telephone or electronically. Provides support concerning the use of computer hardware and software, including printing, installation, word processing, electronic mail, and operating systems. This is a non-exempt position. The Support Specialist reports to the IT Manager. Supports and creates positive environments through a personal commitment to the Company’s vision and values.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Employee must have regular attendance/punctuality, be able to cooperate with others, and be completely honest. Other assigned duties include:
• Provides answers to Company users by identifying problems; researching answers; guiding users through corrective steps.
• Improves users with references by writing and maintaining documentation.
• Participates in development of user training programs by identifying learning issues and recommending instructional language.
• Accommodates user disabilities by recommending devices and techniques.
• Avoids legal challenges by monitoring compliance with service agreements and federal regulations.
• Improves system performance by identifying problems and recommends changes.
• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; maintaining personal networks.
• Accomplishes information systems and organization mission by completing required results as needed.
• Assists with Cloud based development projects and web services integration.
• Assists with the deployment of a national mobile training platform.
• Provides Cloud based domain support.
• Provides NCP Web services support.
• Provides Help Desk functions such as technical/troubleshooting for users, resolves equipment and software issues.
• Assists with ordering, setting-up and maintaining inventory on all IT equipment, i.e. cell/desk phones, tablets, computers, etc.
• Provides or assists with user training on all IT equipment and software as needed.
• Presents new policy or procedure changes to company database as needed and directed by IT Director.
• New device deployment: PC’s, notebooks, tablets and phones.
• Responsible for or assists with IT asset tracking.
• Assists in development of instructional booklets on how to use software, i.e. EMR for nurses, CNA’s and HHA’s.
• Assists in the creation of forms as needed by various company departments, i.e. editable PDF forms.
• Participates in IT system development meetings.
• Supports reception area as needed with incoming calls and walk-in traffic.
• Performs other duties as assigned

 

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
• High School Diploma or GED required. Associates degree or higher in a related area is preferred.
• 1-2 years of relevant work experience preferred.
