IT Support Specialist
Overview:
Manage all Information Technology (IT) projects and issues to ensure the upkeep and enhancement of all IT related issues in the Hong Kong Buying Office (HKBO). This includes but is not limited to all IT hardware and software maintenance and upgrades, outstanding issue resolution, network stability and security, company phone setup and ad hoc IT projects. He/she will also support the education of IT related topics including foundational usage of Microsoft programs. The role reports directly to the Head of Office, HKBO.
Job Responsibilities:
Maintain all IPAC devices with weekly uploads, charging, usage control, repairs, etc.
Experience with hardware – Knowledge of different I/O ports (VGA, DP, HDMI, DVI, USBA, USBC, etc)
Familiarity with software installation – Pushing packages via SCCM as well as manual installations
Soft skills required – Customer service (most important on the list), prioritization, multi-tasking, adaptability and flexibility, drives for results, acts with integrity, eager to learn, learns new skills quickly, open minded and makes changes based on feedback provided, active listening, communicates well both written and verbally.
Monitors and troubleshoots all HKBO computer, telecommunications (voice and data- to include IPhone and Mobile devices) copiers and printers.
Sets up individual user computers/workstations and peripheral devices on network. Experience configuring multiple hardware devices to a single machine using docking stations, adaptors, etc.
Identifies and resolves problems, makes repairs and/or coordinates service.
Maintains records of equipment inventory, problems and failures. Makes recommendations regarding replacement of equipment.
Interfaces with Home Office Systems Division and Service Center to facilitate the resolution of all user problems.
Point of contact for HKBO associates, Service Center, Outside Vendors and Home Office systems regarding computer and report issues.
Provides training and technical assistance to HKBO users as necessary. Set-up and deployment of all work related tools.
Coordinates the ordering of supplies and stock, maintains inventory of supplies for all printers and copiers.
Performs other duties as required or directed.
Job Requirements:
University graduate with minimum 5 years’ solid experience in IT, supporting an office size of approximately 100 staff, ideally in a sourcing or buying office
Proven relevant experience as a standalone IT specialist of a satellite office and experience working with centralized IT teams in other countries
Fluent in conversation, written and comprehension of English and Mandarin Chinese; other language or Chinese dialects a plus
Strong sense of customer service providing timely support and ability to collaborate with head office and various call centers to resolve issues
Excellent interpersonal skills with proven record of building relationships
Exceptional organization, problem solving and time management skills
Independently looks for areas of contribution with little need for direction
