IT SPECIALIST (INFOSEC/SYSADMIN)
Summary You will serve as an IT SPECIALIST (INFOSEC/SYSADMIN) in the Information Management Department of NAVMEDRSCHU 6 LIMA PERU. The Secretary of Defense has ordered a department-wide hiring freeze subject to certain limited exceptions. This position is subject to the DoD hiring freeze. Responsibilities You will support Information Assurance (IA), information systems management, and operations within the Command, and provides assistance as needed to outlying sites. You will provide technical support for all hardware and software. You will perform substantial administrative security oversight of the local and wide-area networks, conducts risk analysis, implements encryption controls to assure confidentiality and privacy, and coordinates forensic analysis. You will develop and maintain an organization level IA program that identifies IA architecture, requirements, objectives, policies, processes, and procedures. You will create, maintain, and evaluate: Local Area Network (LAN) operational logs; document files; trouble call logs; systems topologies; inventory tracking databases; network and protocol access connection logs and others. You will develop and maintain a DHA organizational or system-level cybersecurity program related to cybersecurity requirements, objectives, policies, processes, and procedures. You will monitor compliance with cybersecurity policy, as appropriate, and reviews the results of such monitoring. You will act as the primary cybersecurity technical adviser to the Authorizing Official. You will work with the Program Management Office (PMO) to ensure that the correct Risk Management Framework (RMF) Process is being followed. You will develop Risk Management Framework documentation as required to ensure the information is current, accurate, and applicable to the article of test. You will be responsible for conducting configuration changes, installation, operation and maintenance of the Command's Windows based servers, computers, peripheral devices, and other communication devices. You will ensure that the SYSADMINs develop standard LAN configuration and installation requirements in conjunction with applicable standards, to comply with all IA related issues. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Coordinating Information Systems Security programs; Performing administrative security oversight of local and wide-area networks; Conducting risk analysis; AND developing local policies in accordance with regulatory requirements. Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving.
