IT SPECIALIST (APPSW/INFOSEC)
Summary You will serve as a IT SPECIALIST (APPS/INFOSEC) responsible for Java Software Development of the NAVAIR Depot Maintenance System (NDMS) in the Application Management and Development Division of Commander, Fleet Readiness Centers (COMFRC). Responsibilities You will be designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality Java-based software solutions. You will write clean, testable, and well-documented code. You will collaborate with other developers, product managers, and QA site experts throughout the software development lifecycle. You will participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives. You will troubleshoot and resolve software defects. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing some or all of the following duties: Collaborating with team members to define optimized system architecture strategies, focusing on performance, scalability, and maintainability, while adhering to established coding standards and best practices. Providing analytical support on system requirements for proposed IT acquisitions from the earliest stages of object orientated development, through the acquisition milestone process, ensuring alignment with existing infrastructure and development workflows. Identifying and documenting software bugs and performance bottlenecks, and developing methods to resolve them through debugging, code refactoring, and optimization techniques. Enforcing all DoD Information Systems (IS) and adherence to established software development lifecycles (SDLC) and configuration management processes for assigned IT systems; and Performing java software development, review, endorsement, and maintenance of comprehensive technical documentation, including API specifications, user guides, and deployment instructions, in accordance with DoD, DON, and NAVAIR policies.
