Summary THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for an IT SPECIALIST (APPSW), Position Description Number D0264P01 and is part of the ID Human Resource Office Air, Idaho Army National Guard. THIS POSITION IS INDEFINITITE WITH THE POSSIBILITY TO CONVERT AT A LATER DATE Responsibilities -Reviews and analyzes the business practices of serviced organizations to determine those practices that could be significantly enhanced by the modification of existing or the development of new automated systems. -Receives and evaluates requests for data processing projects. Requests are normally general in nature without specific information on input/output data and hardware instructions. Conducts studies concerning the feasibility of proposed new systems development projects. Determines time and cost savings, man-hour and material requirements, hardware capabilities, and overall impact on resources. Advises on the best methods to accomplish the project. -Works closely with customers to determine required functional requirements and to translate functional requirements into design specifications. -Recommends improvements to current applications. Reviews and analyzes current systems. With approval, completes modifications and improvements to provide better service and more efficient utilization of personnel and equipment. Proposes needed re-design studies. Develops reports on the status projects. -Integrates multiple operating systems and coordinates between functional areas that necessitates unusual coordination and organization requirements. -Designs the program structure of files and records and determines detailed sequences of action in program logic. Codes, tests, debugs, and documents programs. -Responds to problems by diagnosing and correcting errors in logic and coding. Writes and maintains application operation instructions for assigned programs. -Develops reports on the status of projects for those assigned. -Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Military Grades: E-4 THROUGH O-3 GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience must be IT related; the experience may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, IT certification), as appropriate. For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicant must have at least one year of specialized experience at the GS-9 level. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular competencies/knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position and is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Such experience is typically gained in the IT field or through the performance of work where the primary concern is IT. The employing agency is responsible for defining the specialized experience based on the requirements of the position being filled. Must have experience with MS Sharepoint / Power Platform / Website design and maintenance. Ideal candidate should have MS PL-900 Power Platform Fundamentals or higher or equivalent experience Incumbent must complete appropriate training and obtain required certifications IAW DoD 8570.01M or applicable document(s) for Cyber workforce as an IT Technician Level within 9 months of employment Education There are no educational requirements for this position.
