IT SPECIALIST
GRAND PRAIRIE, TEXAS – GRAND PRAIRIE PLANT

 

As a member of the IT team, the IT Specialist I (IT Shift Engineer) will be responsible to execute all information technology activities assigned by the Plant IT Specialist II or the Plant IT Manager during the shift, he also is responsible to provide 1st lever support to the users and shop floor. Incumbents in this classification install computer systems, ensure that backup systems operate effectively, buy hardware and software, develop the IT infrastructure, fill out reports, review and install shop floor hardware (scanners, thin clients, printers, cameras, etc).

 

The Role:

Your work will include, but not be limited to:

Complete daily checklist activities. Providing 1st/ level technical support & problem analysis/rectification.  Ensure documentation and procedures are maintained and improved in accordance with ISMS and Sarbanes Oxley requirements. Ensuring pro-active monitoring of systems using key performance indicators and dashboards. Ensuring performance and availability of all computer systems including hardware, networks, IT security and telecommunications. Monitor Ivanti call logging system and resolve production tickets. Maintain Computer systems to current corporate standards.. Scorecard compliance activities including system patching, antivirus and CM. Purchasing for all IT operations service requirements. Configuring all onsite hardware including desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, thin clients, industrial PCs. Deploying hardware into production environment to agreed schedules within maintenance windows. Processing New user equipment requests / processing Leaver data and equipment requests. Providing support on production systems LearPICS, LPS, LFG. Ensuring performance and availability of networking infrastructure, ensuring stability of LAN/WAN by proactive monitoring and resolving issues, to include Cisco switch configuration, fault finding and hardware upgrades. Monitoring Avamar Backup processes. Virtual Server monitoring and preventative maintenance to ensure 100% uptime. Ensuring all corporate requirements are delivered satisfactorily and on time. Disaster recovery corporate compliance and failover testing practices. Software license, inventory and hardware maintenance management. General administration and housekeeping of hot swap equipment and materials in IT Storage

Your Qualifications:

Four-year college degree in Information System or five years previous experience in operations IT field. Hardware and network troubleshooting skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently or in a team-oriented environment. Knowledge of networking systems to include how they are designed, capabilities, and limitations, and feasibility of systems. Operation knowledge of AS400.
