In return, we'll help you build a career that you can feel passionate about. **Job Summary** An Information Technology (IT) Specialist is responsible for overseeing, and managing business support applications and for extracting information for business managers and end-users. The individual in this role will provide subject-matter expertise to the business, act as a liaison between the business and IT service providers and assist the project teams oriented around expanded use of the applications. + Manage the day-to-day operations and support of assigned business application; analyze, enhance, design, and implement information systems in collaboration with business unit personnel and in alignment with site and corporate direction and roadmaps. + Monitor business system processes, applications, and data issues; perform root-cause analyses; document known problems for business solutions team and functional business unit resolution; and update support documentation for business systems. + Collaborate with business and IT to identify areas of enhancements to pursue and implementation of application changes. + Contribute to projects and resolution of issues related to changes in systems; communicate status of issues resolutions; and assist with providing documentation of resolutions required to implement the technology, processes, and skills changes. + Perform system administration, support and maintenance for assigned business applications; document requirements, specification, and business processes for system change controls. + Provide subject-matter expertise and reports to assist business leaders as needed. + Perform all other related duties as assigned.Administer project budgets and fiscal controls, contracts, and quality-control provisions. + Provide monthly updates of expenditures to department management. **Job Qualifications** Minimum Qualifications: + Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in computer science or related discipline with 5 or more years of relevant experience required; or master's degree in computer science with one year of relevant experience; contract research organization experience preferred. + Demonstrated knowledge of assigned functional systems and processes; in-depth knowledge of current IT technologies, including application programming, database and systems design. + Demonstrated ability to identify opportunities for business system improvements, coordinate several major tasks, and manage projects. + Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work well in a team- based environment. + Ability to communicate verbally and in writing at all levels inside and outside the organization. + Basic familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite. + Computer skills, commensurate with Essential Functions, including the ability to learn a validated system. + Ability to work extended hours beyond normal work schedule to include, but not limited to evenings, weekends, extended shifts, and/or extra shifts, sometimes on short notice. + Ability to work under specific time constraints. **About Safety Assessment** Charles River is committed to helping our partners expedite their preclinical drug development with exceptional safety assessment services, state-of-the-art facilities and expert regulatory guidance.
