IT Specialist

With the belief that they were there when we needed them, so we must be there now that they need us, Veterans Inc., the largest provider of supportive services to Veterans and their families in New England is seeking to fill the IT Specialist position and become a valued member of the Veterans Inc. team!\n

Under the daily supervision of the IT Manager, this position will be responsible for providing technical assistance and support related to computer systems to Veterans Inc. staff across multiple sites. This role is also responsible for safeguarding sensitive information, assisting with infrastructure administration, supporting cybersecurity tools and compliance efforts, and contributing to digital transformation projects including cloud migration, dashboarding, and mobile device management.\n


WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY:\n\nProvide technical support and troubleshooting for desktops, laptops, landline phones, mobile devices, software, and peripheral hardware via phone, email, chat, and in person.\nSupport and assist with the administration of core IT systems including:\n\nCheckpoint Harmony for email security\nEndpoint protection and response tools\nClarity Human Services HMIS platform\nSmartDeploy for OS imaging and deployment\nMeraki MDM and UniFi wireless access points\nAzure Active Directory and Office 365 administration\nRMM and managed services oversight\nCCTV platforms, including coordination with third-party vendors\nT-Mobile cellular services, including phones, 5G modems\/antennas and mobile hotspots\n\n\nAssist the IT Manager in planning and implementing the migration of on-premises servers to cloud services (Azure or AWS).\nAssist with the future transition from Active Directory and Group Policy to Microsoft Intune for Windows 11 device management.\nAssist with endpoint deployment, OS upgrades (Windows 11), device imaging, and patch management.\nMaintain accurate IT inventory and documentation, including software licenses, device assignments, configurations, and access logs.\nEnsure timely application of system updates, antivirus definitions, and security patches\nUphold cybersecurity best practices, promote staff awareness through training, and report potential vulnerabilities or incidents.\nAssist with Power BI or similar dashboard\/reporting tools, including integration with Clarity Human Services for program analytics and insights.\nMaintain compliance with Veterans Inc. confidentiality policies and data protection standards.\nDeliver staff training and documentation on hardware, software, cybersecurity hygiene and IT tools.\nManage user accounts, including setups, changes, and password resets. This also includes administering permissions and access controls.\nAttends and actively participates in all Veterans meetings and events as assigned.\nPerform other duties and special projects as \n\n

WHAT YOU MUST HAVE:\n\nMinimum of a two-year degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent education.\nMinimum of 2-5 years IT support experience in a Windows environment.\nHands-on experience in:\n\nWorkstation and mobile device setup, support, and troubleshooting\nWindows 11, Microsoft 365, Active Directory user and group management\nRemote access and VPN support\nWired and wireless network troubleshooting\nVulnerability remediation and patch management\n\n\nOutstandingcustomersupport and problem-solving skills, including effective communication and strong interpersonal skills required.\nUnderstanding of Microsoft Office 365, Windows 11, and Microsoft Active Directory.\nThe ability to successfully pass all Veterans Inc. pre-hire testing including, but not limited to CORI\/Background and drug screening\nCompliance with Veterans Inc. COVID-19 Vaccination Policy. Religious and Medical Exemptions are considered.\n\n
