We are looking for an IT Service Operator - ALM

You’ll make a difference by:

The ALM group is responsible to provide professional application services to our users of Siemens Mobility worldwide. We support our business units by hosting and managing different applications for the software builds for several Mobility products and projects.

Continuous monitoring of processes, target-oriented and fast intervention and a high awareness of all current issues are key elements of successful operation and high user satisfaction.

You will be responsible for operating and supporting ALM applications such as Polarion, Redmine, JIRA, Git, IBM ClearQuest, and ClearCase You will handle L1 (first-level) and L2 (second-level) support activities, including ticket triaging, basic troubleshooting, escalation, and resolution You will monitor applications proactively to identify and resolve performance, availability, or security issues You will assist in system and network issue identification, evaluation, and troubleshooting, coordinating with relevant teams when needed You will support end-users by addressing access issues, usage questions, and error resolution, ensuring high user satisfaction You will work closely with internal ALM tool teams and improve tool stability You will help create and maintain service documentation, standard operating procedures, and update the knowledge base You will assist in the rollout of new tool versions, upgrades, or migrations—including infrastructure setup (on-prem/cloud) You will support the onboarding and operations of future ALM platforms, ensuring smooth integration into the IT landscape

You’ll win us over by:

A degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent technical background You possess very good problem-solving skills, ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and maintain a high level of confidentiality 3+ years of experience in IT system operations or ALM tool support Hands-on experience with L1 and L2 support processes, including ticket systems, escalation procedures, and user communication Experience in supporting ALM tools such as Polarion, Redmine, JIRA, Git, ClearQuest, or ClearCase Familiarity with Linux and Windows operating systems, including basic networking and system administration Practical experience with AWS or Azure cloud platforms in system monitoring or infrastructure operations Skills in scripting (Shell, Python, or PowerShell) and using monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch) Strong organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills A collaborative great teammate who can work optimally in a global and multi-vendor setup Fluent English (C1 level) is important; German is a plus Willingness to travel to Europe for short-term assignments when required A customer-focused approach with a drive for automation, reliability, and service quality
