IT Server Administrator

The IT Server Administrator is responsible for maintaining the site’s critical operational systems environment. This role involves the design, configuration, deployment, and operational maintenance of servers, workstations, network, and storage technologies to ensure continuous availability of secure and reliable services to the facility. The analyst provides technical support to local operations personnel for the ongoing maintenance and administration of systems. Responsibilities include ensuring cybersecurity compliance, managing information and risk, maintaining asset inventory and monitoring, handling software license management, and overseeing OS/software patching. The role supports both new projects and the lifecycle management of existing systems. **This position requires adherence to a hybrid work schedule.** **Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:** Infrastructure Support + Design, configure, deploy, and maintain server, workstation and storage technologies to ensure continuous availability of secure and reliable services. + Provide technical support for local operations personnel in the maintenance and administration of systems. + Ensure adherence to cybersecurity standards, risk compliance, and patch management processes. + Monitor and manage asset inventory and software licensing. + Collaborate with vendors to resolve infrastructure issues. + Deliver responsive end-user support and contribute to a rotating 24x7 on-call support schedule. Virtualization & Server Administration + Deploy, troubleshoot, and support Microsoft Windows Servers in both virtual and physical environments. + Operate within a VMware ESX Server and vCenter environment on Cisco HyperFlex, Dell VXRail, or similar hyperconverged platforms. Directory & Network Services + Manage Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, WINS, and Group Policy Objects (GPOs). + Implement and maintain reliable directory services and authentication technologies. Automation & Monitoring + Write and maintain scripts to automate system maintenance and monitoring tasks. + Implement third-party tools to monitor system for reliability, security and operational efficiency (Solarwinds, Splunk, Ivanti, Symantec, or similar tools) Cyber Security & Compliance Support + Support and execute monthly server patching activities and compliance operations. + Ensure infrastructure compliance with CIS, STIG, or equivalent industry standards. + Interpret vulnerability scan results from tools like Nessus/Tenable and implement effective remediation strategies to enhance system security. + Develop and maintain technical documentation, including standard operating procedures and configuration guidelines. **Required Qualifications** Experience with: + Supporting and troubleshooting LAN/WAN infrastructure in PCN/DMZ environments; understanding of security frameworks/architectures like Purdue Model, Zones and Conduit, Zero trust . + Deploying, troubleshooting, and supporting Microsoft Windows Servers in both virtual and physical configurations (single-server or clustered). + Operating in a virtualization environment using VMware ESX Server and vCenter on Cisco HyperFlex, Dell VXRail or other hyperconverged platforms. + Active Directory, network services (IP, DHCP, DNS, WINS), and Group Policy Object (GPO) management. + NIST cybersecurity framework and practical implementation using standards such as CIS Benchmarks and DISA STIGs. + Designing, testing, and implementing IT Infrastructure deployments or lifecycle projects. + Writing and maintaining scripts to automate system administration tasks + Implementing third-party tools to enhance system reliability and efficiency. + Managing Windows Server patching and critical updates using patch management tools. + Applying strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify, communicate, and resolve issues. + Communicating effectively, both orally and in writing. **Good to have but not required** + Work experience supporting a Complex facility like Refinery or alike + Knowledge of OT Protocols like OPC, MODBUS, PROFINET, MQTT + Understanding of Distributed Control System (DCS) architectures, familiarity with industry-leading vendor such as Honeywell. **Preferred Qualifications** + Associate’s degree or higher in technology or a related discipline. + Microsoft certifications (e.g., Windows Server, Azure). + CCNA or PCNSA certifications, or equivalent OT network competency. + Basic familiarity with Linux server environments (RHEL, CentOS, etc.). + Scripting and automation experience using PowerShell, Ansible, JSON, YAML, or Python. + Understanding of cloud services (e.g., Microsoft Azure). + Familiarity with Agile methodologies / SAFe framework; experience with Microsoft ADO or VSTS. **Relocation Options:** Relocation **will not be** considered. **International Considerations:** Expatriate assignments **will not be** considered.
