New and exciting technologies are right around the corner, creating enormous possibilities for Rabobank. With the arrival of GenAI, the increasing use of data and the acceleration of inclusion of emerging technologies, the bank turns even more into a tech company. As Rabobank, we have to be permanently aware of the trust that is placed in us. That is why we have to be diligent with regard to protecting our core systems, communication channels and data.

The transformation of Rabobank into a tech company comes with challenging and also exciting topics related to Information Security, Third Party, Continuity and IT Risks, since our IT-landscape is more and more connected to external parties, cloud and mobile applications.

Together with colleagues you will contribute to a Rabobank that stays in control of its IT-risks, because of your strong, fact-based challenge and oversight. This way you can facilitate the exciting transformation, based on your thorough, in-depth knowledge and sound experience with IT risk.

For Rabobank, risk management is at the core of doing business, with an increasing focus on IT risks. This means that we are currently expanding our Technology & Innovation Risk Management team. We are looking for you to support us with your knowledge of and experience in risk management with a focus on Information Security and IT Technology risks. We are looking for new colleagues to join our teams that cover Information Security and IT Risk Oversight.

We would also love to get in touch with risk professionals with experience and a track record in project management. Given the constant state of change in the world of risk management we are running simultaneous projects to translate emerging risks and regulatory requirements into policies, procedures and products. Being able to execute these projects on time with the right quality is an important factor in our success.

Practical Examples

In your role you will:

challenge the IT domain of Rabobank Group regarding IT risks in general. You do this by overseeing and challenging the risk management activities of the IT domain bank wide, both nationally and internationally

challenge and oversee the CISO function within the bank. Your technical knowledge of IT infrastructure helps our Information Security team to ask the right questions and have an opinion on information security topics in the broadest sense. This also includes determining relevant new and updated risks with respect to Information Security

oversee the Operational Risk Management framework for Data Management, incl (Gen)AI initiatives

globally monitoring and challenging the IT risk profile of the business, the ‘first line of responsibility’

run projects to implement changes to our risk and control framework. This can be in the form of new policies, risks, controls or reporting

You & your talent

University Level (IT related Risk management qualification: CISM, CISSP, CCSP or RE): relevant Master’s degree

Ability to zoom in or out on risk topics as needed, set priorities, critical thinker, perform challenge with an understanding for human interactions

Sound understanding of technology topics identity & access management, security by design, secure cloud computing, security monitoring, networking technologies, secure architecture, etc. 

Sound understanding of the technicalities of operational and non-financial risk management, with broad familiarity with a variety of risk assessment analytics.

In-depth understanding of organizational structures and business processes.

Demonstrated good leadership, planning and managerial abilities, with solid project management and organizational skills, as well as ability to work with various internal and external stakeholders.

Detailed understanding of the current regulatory environment for IT, operational and non-financial risks.

Experience with data-driven risk management and tool-supported analysis. This includes the effective use of GenAI opportunities.

The following conditions will be additionally valued, based on the level of proficiency with these additional skills the role is grade between grade 9 up to grade 11:

Experience with and knowledge of project and change management. A proven track record is an extra plus point

Managing (small) teams

Independent result-oriented mindset, e.g. as a subject matter expert.

Knowledge of the Rabobank organization.
