Overview
Reporting to the Head of EMEA IT Shared Services, this role will primarily be responsible for the delivery of a variety of IT projects in EMEA as well as leading the portfolio of regional Small Applications. The role will also require providing support on various other pan-European initiatives, such as Regulatory or Security, as they arise.
Small Applications are tactical solutions developed internally to support operational business processes and to cover gaps in technical or business functions not covered by existing core systems. The Small Applications team works in the region, closely with the business units, and is aimed at serving all European countries (27 countries) and business units (Commercial Lines, Consumer Lines as well as support functions). The job holder is responsible for providing Agile Delivery and Support where small solutions can be delivered to resolve business issues and increase efficiencies.
Key responsibilities
Be a contact to capture business needs in terms of new System Development Requests and support the formalization of Business Requirements, Business Case, Governance Process.Manage regular reviews of the System Development Requests queue and work with the prioritization group to agree the priorities.Coordinate the work for prioritized initiatives, working closely with 2 Business Analysts and various Delivery groups.Direct Management and coordination of the work of Small Applications team currently comprised of 2 Developers based in different locations (Milan and Madrid) and work closely with external vendors as per the project needs.Allocation and regular status reviews of workloads for Developers.Assessment and rationalisation of identified European applications, upgrade of essential applications and continue decommissioning of legacy applications.Coordinate the development of new applications on technologies approved within Chubb, working with EMEA IT to deliver solutions, in line with Chubb IT internal rules and processes (Enterprise Architecture and Information Security imperatives).Work closely with the Enterprise Architecture team to present the new project requests.Perform and coordinate the project approval processes (creation of Build Permit for Technology Solution Governance, Third Party Risk assessment, Data Security assessment, etc.) for new application development and for projects that require development by an external vendor.Coordinate the support on existing applications.Coordinate with the infrastructure team to set-up and maintain infrastructure to support developments on technologies such as C#, ASP.NET, SQL Server.Deliver accurate status reports containing development progress, upcoming milestones, changes to milestones, issues, risks & financial status, on a regular and ad-hoc basis as required.Ensure Project Management (Project Delivery) and Application Support (Service Delivery) vital standards are followed (Change Management process and Incident Management process).Build effective relationships and communication channels with all relevant Business Stakeholders, Business analysts, Development teams, PMO, etc.2-3 years of proven working experience as a IT Project Manager Working knowledge of project management methodologies (PMP and Agile Scrum).Proven understanding of multiple delivery approaches (Waterfall and Agile).Working knowledge of IT Service methodologies (ITIL).Organized, driven delivery focused and attention to detail.Experience of working with teams across different countries.Experience of working with outsourcing providers with an on/offshore model.History of working with both business stakeholders and technical teams.Good soft skills and ability to impart technical knowledge.Ability to think out of the box, to be proactive and to influence.Understands and can operate effectively within a matrix organisational reporting structure.Experience of the financial services sector, preferably insurance but not essential.Good knowledge of Microsoft Project, Excel, Power Point and Word required.Background in business analysis and business process re-engineering is a plus.Knowledge of Software Development Tool for Agile Teams such as JIRA is a plus.Knowledge of Information Security rules and tools is a plus (e.g. Applications Vulnerabilities Scanning)
