Job Description

The IT Manager is responsible for overseeing all technology operations in the hotel, including infrastructure, systems, security, and guest-facing technologies. This role ensures the efficient and secure use of IT to support hotel operations, guest services, and business continuity. The IT Manager also manages IT staff, liaises with vendors, and drives IT strategy in alignment with the hotel’s goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the planning, implementation, and maintenance of the hotel’s IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, hardware, and software.

Oversee critical hotel systems such as PMS (e.g., Opera), POS (e.g., MICROS), key card access, telephony, CCTV, and guest Wi-Fi.

Ensure cybersecurity policies are enforced and that regular backups and disaster recovery systems are in place.

Manage and support user needs across all departments, ensuring minimal downtime and efficient tech support.

Serve as the main point of contact with external IT service providers, software vendors, and corporate IT departments.

Train hotel employees on the proper use of technology systems and security protocols.

Monitor IT budget, procurement, and asset inventory.

Stay updated on new hotel tech trends and propose improvements to enhance guest experience and operational efficiency.

Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and internal IT standards.

Provide 24/7 support or manage an on-call rotation for emergencies.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.

3–5+ years of experience in IT management, preferably in hospitality.

Strong knowledge of hospitality software systems (e.g., Opera PMS, MICROS POS, key card systems).

Proven experience managing networks, servers, Windows environments, and cloud services.

Solid understanding of cybersecurity, data protection laws, and disaster recovery planning.

Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills.

Ability to manage vendors, budgets, and strategic IT initiatives.
