IT Manager
uShip is hiring an IT Manager to lead the delivery and management of enterprise-wide IT services and infrastructure, while ensuring strong, organization-wide security practices. In this role, you will oversee the operation of critical IT systems, embed security at every level, and drive the development of scalable strategies that protect both our users and our technology environment. You’ll play a key role in aligning IT and security initiatives with business goals, enabling innovation, resilience, and long-term growth.
In addition to managing IT systems and safeguarding enterprise security, you will lead advancing cross-functional technology initiatives and uncovering opportunities for automation and ongoing improvement. As an advocate for user-centric technology, you’ll ensure that systems are not only secure and reliable but also optimized to enhance the employee experience. The ideal candidate will bring strong collaboration skills, a proactive problem-solving mindset, and the ability to build trust and influence across both internal teams and external partners.

Stakeholder mapping: Identify key stakeholders and understand their needs and expectations Department overview: Gain a comprehensive understanding of the IT department’s structure, roles, and responsibilities IT systems & processes: Become familiar with the IT department’s core technologies and standard processes Documentation assessment: Review existing documentation, policies, and procedures Key focus areas: Identify key projects and initiatives that require immediate attentionBy Day 60 (Integration & Contribution)
Collaboration & engagement: Participate in team meetings and collaborate through meaningful contributions Progressive project participation: Engage in projects with a focus on gradually expanding scope and accountability Relationship development: Cultivate trust and communication with internal teams, leadership, and external stakeholders Performance oversight: Monitor progress on assigned projects and identify potential issues to ensure timely resolution Documentation & standardization: Formalize and document operational processes and best practicesBy Day 90 (Delivery & Execution)

Location: Austin, TX 78701, local hybrid team environment. Ability to go into office required.
Salary: $140-150k base salary (total comp includes paid insurance, 401k matching, office and wellness reimbursements, etc.)
