The IT Lifecycle Engineer is responsible for the design, administration, and technical support of company Building Management Systems (BMS) applications (Siemens Desigo CC, Johnson controls Metasys) and Environmental Management Systems (EMS) (Vaisala / Rees / Boomerang). Additionally, this position will assist with troubleshooting of physical security systems (Genetec) and site visitor management. Support and assigned duties include ad hoc report creation, troubleshooting, and coordination of troubleshooting efforts with remote field resources, service ticket reporting and escalation, managing licenses and disaster recovery. This position will have global responsibilities across the Cytiva business and reports to the Senior Manager, IT - Facilities, Security, and Crisis. It will be an on-site role in Kraków, Poland.
What you will do:
Stand up new and strategic applications supporting the functional partners and product owners in Facilities.
Maintain vitality, support and overall system product lifecycle across portfolio as product owner.
Assist with design and implementation for new facilities applications.
Support and work with IT Manager and peers maintaining product licensing, purchases, and financials.
Technical SME (Subject Matter Expert) on supported systems.
Who you are:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience required with 3+ years’ experience in IT or OT support roles with exposure to BMS/EMS/Security systems.
Working knowledge of at least one or more systems/platforms: Siemens, Metasys, Rockwell, Vaisala, Genetec Security Center. Familiarity with GxP, FDA 21 CFR Part 11, Annex 11, and validated environments. Experience with Power BI, QlikView, or Tableau for building operational dashboards.
Proficient troubleshooting skills across network layers (TCP/IP, VLANs, firewalls) and Windows/Linux systems.
Proficient in SQL for querying, report creation, and basic database administration.
Ability to read and interpret system diagrams, technical manuals, and control schematics. Ability to understand basic operations of low voltage alarm, loggers and controllers used in BMS/EMS, CCTV, and other systems.
Fluency in English language (written and spoken) is mandatory; fluency in Polish will be considered a strong asset.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
Experience with historian systems (e.g., OSIsoft PI) or SCADA/HMI platforms.
Exposure to REST APIs, OPC-UA, BACnet, or Modbus protocols.
Scripting or automation experience (e.g. Python, PowerShell) is a plus.
Prior experience supporting systems in pharmaceutical, biotech, or regulated environments.
