IT Help Desk Technician

One of our major clients is seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused IT Help Desk Technician who excels at solving technical issues while providing exceptional support. In this role, you'll serve as both the first and second point of contact for technical assistance, supporting and enhancing the Microsoft 365 environment, secure file management systems (Egnyte), Microsoft Teams Rooms, and local network infrastructure. This is a direct hire opportunity reporting onsite to Des Plaines, IL with occasional travel to Chicago and Barrington.

Qualifications 3–5 years of experience in a Help Desk or IT support role, handling both Level 1 and Level 2 support issuesExcellent communication skills with a strong focus on customer service and user satisfactionProficient with Microsoft 365, Entra ID / Azure Active Directory, and IntuneHands-on experience supporting Microsoft Teams Room systemsSolid foundational knowledge of networking concepts, including IP addressing, DNS, DHCP, switches, and Wi-FiUnderstanding of cybersecurity best practices, including endpoint protection, multi-factor authentication (MFA), secure access, and patch managementExperience supporting Egnyte or similar cloud-based file-sharing platformsFamiliarity with hybrid IT environments and VPN setup/configurationExperience troubleshooting printers and peripheral devicesProficient with remote support tools such as TeamViewer, Quick Assist, AnyDesk, and NinjaRelevant certifications are a plus (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator)Previous experience working in hybrid or remote-first workplace settingsAbility to document procedures clearly and contribute to a centralized knowledge baseExperience working in the construction industry a plusThe candidate must have a car, as this position requires travel between location and the transportation of equipmentA valid driver’s license and proof of vehicle insurance will be requiredLegally authorized to work in the US without sponsorshipMust demonstrate a “can-do” attitude

Compensation Range: 

$32-37/hr
