The IT Executive’s core responsibilty is to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the IT Department.  This role is also responsible for hotel purchasing duties, procuring items required by management at competitive prices without compromising quality.

What will I be doing? 

\n

As the IT Executive, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards: 

\n

IT

\n\nMaximize and protect hotel profitability through the leverage of Information Technology, training and operational best practices. \nMaximize opportunities to reduce IT costs through effective purchasing and negotiating maintenance contracts. \nIdentify and propose opportunities to optimize revenue. \nResponsible for timely preparation and submission of all IT budgets. \nResponsible for the management and control of all IT expense according to an agreed plan. \nEnsure a business continuity plan is established and tested for all parts of the business. \nProvide the highest possible IT service to the agreed standards and best practices. \nWork with Business Management to expedite access and better utilization of information. \nImplement and exploit telephony services to HI minimum defined standards. \nEnsure guests’ IT queries are managed to defined standards with minimal risks. \nEnsure brand standards are communicated and maintained for Guest and Business Service. \nEnsure the hotel adopts and maintains brand standards for guests and business services in relation to IT services and offerings. \nConsistently promote the brand and encourage the use of the brand by IT suppliers. \nEnsure IT resources are maintained in the hotel to support the commercial & business needs.  \nIdentify and ensure all hotel data has ownership and accountability within the organization. \nEnsure a successor is identified and trained to the standard. \nProvide IT support to other Hilton hotels when required. \nCross train other hotel IT personnel to provide cover. \nMaintain standards and best practices in the hotel and evaluate compliance \nManage and monitor local vendors and / or local representatives of global / area vendors. \nEnsure that hotel data is secured and in line with stated standards and best practices. \nEnsure Access Control is in line with stated standards and best practices. \nEnsure regular self-evaluations of IT practices are completed and communicated. \nManage local implementation projects. \nCommunicate status, risks, opportunities to GM, hotel management and regional and area IT management.    \nAdhere to the hotel’s security and emergency policies and procedures. \nEnsure that all team members have a complete understanding of and adhere to the hotel’s team member rules and regulations. \nThe Management reserves the right to change / extend this job description if necessary, at any point of time during her / his employment. \nCarry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned. \n\n

Purchasing

\n\nFollow hotel purchasing policy and procedures when carrying out of all purchases. \nObtain three competitive quotes from suppliers to minimize cost to hotel. \nConduct interviews with suppliers, representatives and obtain information, specification, quotations on any items required, handling subsequent correspondence and negotiations for procurement. \nPlace orders with suppliers to ensure timely delivery to satisfy hotel requirement and trace the outstanding orders to ensure operational needs are met. \nCheck pricing of purchase orders and determine appropriate suppliers to obtain best quality and price. \nConduct market surveys to understand market trends and the price floating. \nSafeguard the petty cash float (if any) so as to ensure no unauthorized access to the float, ensuring that it is kept in the safe. \nCollect the Market List quotation at regular intervals. \nRegularly review contract supplies to ensure prices are still competitive.   \nMaintain competitor knowledge of similar products by regularly surveying price lists of other hotels’ operation supplies. \nAnalyze market trends to anticipate likely price fluctuations, for the purpose of maintaining inventory either for long or short time periods. \nEnsure all documentation (purchase orders, invoices, delivery dockets etc.) is forwarded to Accounts Payable on a timely basis. \nFlexible in relation to work hours. \nMinimize the risk of accidents and workers’ compensation costs by ensuring the correct work practices are used and that the area is safe from hazards. \nHandle all requests and enquiries in a timely, efficient and friendly manner. \nStrictly follow the code of conduct. \nThe Management reserves the right to change / extend this job description if necessary, at any point of time during her / his employment. \nCarry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned. \n

What are we looking for?

An IT Executive serving Hilton Brands is always working on behalf of our Guests and working with other Team Members. To successfully fill this role, you should maintain the attitude, behaviours, skills, and values that follow: 

\n\nFive to seven years of relevant IT management experience. \nAt least 1 year of working experience as Purchaser or higher in the hospitality industry. \nSound technical understanding of the management of IT in a service organization. \nGood personality to deal with guests.  \nCapable of training team members. \nPossess strong project management and presentation skills. \nIT qualification / training. \nFluency in both spoken and written English, to meet business needs, is desirable. \nKnowledge of supplies management.   \nExperience in similar capacity with international chain hotels. \nWorking experience within Hilton Group is advantageous. \n\n
