Avnet Logistics Bernburg

A high-performance distribution center with several logistics hall sections and upstream social and administration buildings is being built on a site area of approx. 190,000 m². A total of 56,000 m² of logistics space, 4,600 m² of office space and a product processing center (PMC) with an area of approx. 1,100 m² will be created in the first construction phase. Possible expansion areas are planned.


A total of around 700 jobs are to be created here by 2031. Following the start of construction in September 2022 and the topping-out ceremony in November 2023, gradual commissioning is planned from the second half of 2024. In spring 2025, up to 19,000 parcels are to be delivered here every day to over 30,000 customers worldwide. The location in Bernburg (Saale) complements the company's two existing European distribution centers in Tongeren, Belgium, and Poing near Munich.


Job Summary:

Monitors and operates multiple mainframe and open system platforms.


Principal Responsibilities:

Performs computer system support and utilizes various computer systems software on a daily basis.Ensures global system availability meeting all service level agreements.Provides first level support to all internal customers. Communicates effectively with users and initiates problem resolution, including timely escalation of problems to programmer/analysts, data center management, technical support, and vendors.Monitors and processes production backups and batch.Compiles and documents operational statistics.Maintains documentation and tools necessary to perform this job function. Troubleshoots systems as necessary.Monitors environmental systems for multiple facilities. Understands the operation of all fire suppression, environmental systems and alarms and responds to abnormalities.Provides help desk support primarily during off-shift hours and weekends.Other duties as assigned.

Work Experience:

Typically requires a minimum of five years of related experience.


Education and Certification(s):

High School Diploma or equivalent


Distinguishing Characteristics:
