The Delivery Manager is responsible for ensuring high-quality software delivery on our agile Scrum development teams. The Delivery Manager is responsible for managing a cross-functional software development team, including developers, business analysts, and quality assurance, and ensuring that the team is successful in delivering high-quality business results.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Delivery and Project Management
+ Coordinate project management on Agile development efforts, ensuring alignment of strategic initiatives with team capability and capacity
+ Assist with vendor management when implementing off-the-shelf solutions
+ Assist with planning, forecasting, and estimating
+ Provide visibility into delivery targets, commitments, and progress
+ Manage dependencies across teams, departments, and vendors
+ Act as liaison for stakeholders and other teams
+ Contribute to program and portfolio management
People Management
+ Monitor and manage individual and team performance
+ Identify impediments to delivery and help the team to overcome them
+ Coach and mentor team members to apply the most appropriate agile and lean tools and techniques
+ Coach the team to improve collaboration and self-organization
+ Participate in recruiting and hiring qualified candidates
+ Onboard and train new hires
+ Drive continuous improvement efforts for the team
+ Manage consultants and off-shore resources as needed
Education and Experience
+ Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Business, or related discipline.
+ Minimum 3 years of software development experience.
+ Minimum 5 years of demonstrated work experience leading successful delivery in an agile environment.
+ Azure DevOps experience, professional certifications in SCRUM, project management, or other related areas to software delivery preferred.
+ Demonstrated ability to work with minimal direction as a resourceful, independent problem solver. Must use judgment to recommend changes to existing methods and make decisions guided by policy and precedent.
+ Independent thinker with excellent oral, listening, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
+ Exceptional customer service orientation with strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills; must be able to work with a variety of people and departments.
+ Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to accurately present new information and work collaboratively to get projects completed.
+ Strong analytical skills. Ability to assess situations using statistical and qualitative analysis and make recommendations and/or decisions to meet business needs.
+ Well organized with strong attention to detail and accuracy. Able to develop and follow up on plans; meet deadlines in a fast-paced, changing environment.
Additional Experience
+ Former software developer with strong technical foundations, now leading high-impact Agile delivery initiatives
+ Applies a developer's mindset to planning, estimation, and proactive risk management
+ Serves as a key translator between development teams and business stakeholders, ensuring alignment and clarity
