The IT Data Manager at Element Fleet, is responsible for overseeing and managing Element’s data systems, ensuring the quality, integrity, security and accessibility of data across the business. This role involves designing, implementing and maintaining data management processes, policies and procedures, as well as working closely with multifunctional internal and external project teams to ensure that the Element Data supports the organizational goals and decision-making.
This role serves as a liaison between the business areas and the IT organization for guiding and delivering all business Data needs, managing the assigned budget to maximize the resources usage.
The IT Data Manager is responsible for its IT assigned team resources and direct reports development, career path and succession planning.
The IT Data Manager will apply its advanced analytics skills to help and guide his team to deep dive into complex datasets, analyze information, create a data maturity roadmap and collaborate on the company data and connected solutions strategy to transform our vast data into tangible business value.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Data Governance and Management: Develop and implement data management strategies and follow the corporate policies to ensure data is accurate, consistent, secure and accessible across the organization.
Data Architecture: Collaborate with the rest of IT and the business teams to design and optimize the data infrastructure, including databases, data warehouses, and data lakes, to meet organizational needs.
Data Quality & Integrity: Establish and maintain data quality standards, perform data cleansing and implement data validation techniques to ensure high data integrity across systems.
Data Security & Compliance: Oversee and follow the stablished Element information security measures to protect sensitive and confidential information and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations
Data Integration & Migration: Manage the integration of data across multiple platforms and systems, as well as the migration of data when systems or platforms are upgraded or decommissioned.
Data Analysis, Reporting and AI: Provide analytical support by utilizing corporate artificial intelligence (AI) tools by creating reports, dashboards, and advanced visualizations for stakeholders, ensuring data-driven decision-making for the business, including exploring predictive analysis.
Continuous Improvement: Stay up to date with emerging technologies, tools and trends in data management, advanced analytics and Artificial Intelligence (AI). Propose and implement improvements to systems and processes.
Troubleshooting & Issue Resolution: Address data related issues and perform root cause analysis to troubleshoot and resolve problems related to data systems, quality or data access.
Collaboration & Communication: Work alongside the different business area leaders (local and global) in the identification and definition of new data and AI initiatives that follow the business objectives.
Financial Accountability: Manage the data and AI program assigned resources, internal and contractors, within the assigned annual CapEx and/or OpEx budget
Team Leadership: Manage the development and succession planning of the direct reports the position has, limiting rotation, regrettable attrition, and loss of IT business knowledge
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in an area related to Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, Data Management, Mathematics, or related Data or IT fieldProven experience (5+ years) in data management, data analysis or related IT fieldStrong knowledge of data management principles, data modeling, data warehousing, and data integration techniques.Proficiency with database management systems (DBMS) such SQL Server, Postgres and MySQL as well as data processing and integration toolsExperience with data governance frameworks, data security practices, and compliance requirementsKnowledge or artificial intelligence (AI) models and engines applied to business solutionsStrong projects management and leadership skills, with the ability to manage multipole prioritiesStrong problem-solving skills and attention to detailProficient in data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and cloud-based data storage and processing platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Google Cloud, AWS)Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholdersExperience with tools for data modeling and/or data cleansingExperience working in dynamic groups, taking initiative, working independently, and collaborating with others when necessaryMedium to advanced proficiency of English and Spanish (spoken, written and read)What’s in it for You
