Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated IT professional to join our Hong Kong branch. This role requires strong technical skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and effective communication to support our dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Continuity: Design, maintain and regularly exercise Business Continuity Plans for BBVA branches in Asia, ensuring alignment with the Group’s standard and procedures and all applicable local regulations.
Technology Obsolescence and Lifecycle Management: Sustain a complete asset-lifecycle inventory, track vendor end-of-support dates, and lead timely refresh or compensating-control programmes; submit structured reports to senior management on forthcoming end-of-life risks, remediation progress and budgetary impact.
Governance: Monitoring statutory changes and steering cross-functional revisions to any procedures requiring special treatment, thereby safeguarding continuous regulatory compliance and audit readiness.
Capacity & Performance Management: Monitor and forecast utilisation of IT resources, triggering optimisation or expansion before workloads exceed safe thresholds or budgets drift
Backups & Data Protection: Establish and oversee a reliable, compliant backup regime that secures organisational data and guarantees timely recovery when needed
IT Project Execution: Plan, resource and deliver technology initiatives—aligning scope, schedule, budget and risk—to meet business objectives and maintain ongoing ownership within the team
Required Qualifications:
Education: Background in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum 8-10 years of experience in the IT industry, preferably within the financial services industry.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in various IT systems, including networking, servers, storage, databases and cybersecurity.
Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot technical issues effectively.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; Spanish and Chinese are a plus.
