For our Digital Finance & Governance – IT Finance & Controlling team we are looking for an IT Controller (f/m/d).
As IT Controller, you will play a key role in overseeing financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis across the IT organization. You will ensure financial transparency, cost efficiency, and compliance with internal and external financial policies. Your responsibilities will include managing IT cost allocations, tracking actuals vs. budget, supporting investment decisions, and partnering with stakeholders to drive financial governance.
This position is located in Heidelberg and will directly report to the Manager IT Finance & Controlling.
YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE
IT Financial Planning & Analysis: Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes for IT functions. Monitor actuals vs. budget and provide variance analysis to support strategic decisions. Perform regular Management cycles with Leadership team
Cost Management & Optimization: Identify cost-saving opportunities across IT services, infrastructure, and projects. Develop and implement financial controls to ensure efficient use of resources
Investment Governance: Support business cases and ROI analysis for IT investments. Ensure alignment with financial policies and long-term strategic goals
Manage Software and Hardware renewals and verify supplier invoices
Contribute to Vendor Selection and Contract Negotiation. Procure IT consulting services to support various projects and initiatives
Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with IT, procurement, and finance teams to ensure financial alignment and transparency. Act as a financial advisor to IT leadership
Process Improvement: Contribute to the development and refinement of financial governance frameworks, tools, and methodologies
YOUR PROFILE
Finance Expertise: Strong understanding of financial planning, budgeting, and cost control principles. Experience in IT controlling or financial governance is a plus
IT Acumen: Familiarity with IT services, infrastructure, and project portfolios. Ability to understand and evaluate technical cost drivers
Analytical and presentation Skills: Proficient in financial analysis, modeling, and performance tracking. Skilled in identifying trends and actionable insights
Communication: Clear and effective communicator with the ability to present financial information to both technical and non-technical audiences
Collaboration & Influence: Strong interpersonal skills to work across departments and influence decision-making
Tools & Systems: Experience with financial planning tools (e.g., SAP, Power BI, Excel) and reporting platforms
