IT Communication Technician II-Radio Frequency (RF) and Voice Communications

Johnson Service Group is looking for a candidate for the Information Technology Communication Technician II position, who will join the Field Service Department of our client in the role of a Radio Frequency (RF) and Voice Communications Specialist. The IT Communication Technician will perform installation, maintenance, and repair work on RF wireless and voice communications equipment, software, and hardware. They will assist in providing support of communication systems, tracking and monitoring communication hardware and software, analyze requests and provide customer assistance for solutions. In this position, you’ll also play a vital role in the district's daily operation. This is a 6 month contract role. Work Schedule: 36/44 (Mon-Thurs) with every Friday off.
*Knowledge and experience installing, maintaining, and repairing microwave radios, VOIP Phones, copper and fiber cabling, antenna cable, waveguides, and DC power plants. This includes tower climbing to troubleshoot/repair of antenna cables, battery bank installations, heavy lifting of batteries, microwave equipment, servers, racks, etc.
Required Knowledge of: Principles, practices, and procedures of Information Technology and communications systems; principles, practices, and procedures of network capacity planning; operational characteristics of communication systems; applicable Federal Communications Commission (FCC) rules and regulations; word processing and spreadsheets; and current office technology and equipment.
Required Skills and Abilities to Assist in providing support communication systems; learns and assists in tracking and monitoring communication hardware and software; analyze requests and provide customer assistance for solutions; maintain confidentiality for proprietary and personal information; problem solve; prioritize and multi-task; communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing; establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work; work independently and in a team environment; and operate current office equipment including computers and supporting applications.
The candidate hourly pay rate will range: $45.35hr - $50.65hr.
Desires Experience Below:
High school diploma or general education development test (GED), two years of relevant experience, and completion of 40 semester units from an accredited college, university, vocational or military school. May be required to obtain a valid California Class C Driver License that allows you to drive in the course of your employment. No Cal PERS membership No Carpenters ACTIVE membership #D800
