We are seeking a skilled IT Business Analyst to serve as a critical bridge between our business stakeholders and technology teams who can effectively translate organizational needs into positive business outcomes, while recognizing the impact on our growing global organization. The successful candidate will analyze business processes, identify technology solutions, and facilitate the implementation of systems that drive operational efficiency and support strategic business objectives.
The IT Business Analyst will collaborate closely with internal customers, business partners, and external application vendors to understand and support business processes, workflows, and their alignment with current and future software solutions. In this role, the IT-Business Analyst will be responsible for comprehending and addressing business needs by providing technical solutions through creating detailed business requirements, testing, and system documentation.
Your Essential Functions:
Business Analysis & Requirements Gathering
Act as a liaison between IT and cross-functional business areas
Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand current processes, pain points, and business requirements
Conduct detailed analysis of current and future state business workflows, systems, and data flows
Ensure alignment of business processes and requirements to strategic roadmaps
Document functional and non-functional requirements using industry-standard methodologies
Facilitate requirements workshops and stakeholder interviews to create comprehensive business requirements documents (BRDs) and functional specifications
Drive to keep current with evolving technology with the ability to apply it to future strategic objectives
Solution Design & Recommendations
Evaluate existing systems and processes to identify improvement opportunities
Research and recommend technological solutions that align with business needs and budget constraints
Develop cost-benefit analyses for proposed technology initiatives
Create process maps, wireframes, and system design documentation
Collaborate with solution architects and technical teams on system design
Work with vendors and service providers to assist in the selection of products and services that deliver solutions with industry leading security and efficiencies that align with corporate objectives
Project Management & Implementation
Support project managers in planning and executing technology implementations
Ability to work in both the Waterfall and Agile methodologies
Create detailed project plans, timelines, and resource requirements
Coordinate with cross-functional teams including developers, QA testers, and infrastructure teams
Monitor project progress and communicate status updates to stakeholders
Ensure deliverables meet defined business requirements
Manage and evaluate changes to scope and assess associated project impacts
Testing & Quality Assurance
Develop comprehensive test plans and test cases based on business requirements
Coordinate user acceptance testing (UAT) with business stakeholders
Document and track defects through resolution
Validate that implemented solutions meet specified business requirements
Qualifications
What You’ll Need
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business, equivalent, or related work experience
5+ years of experience working in a large, multi-regional, corporate environment
3+ years of experience working in an engineering / manufacturing environment
3-5 years of experience in business analysis, systems analysis, or related IT role
Experience working in cross-functional teams and managing multiple projects simultaneously
Excellent problem-solving abilities with strong customer support orientation
Proven track record of meeting commitments with the highest standards of ethics and integrity
Exhibits a strong ability to handle multiple demands with a sense of urgency, drive, and energy
Solid verbal and written communication skills
