The Opportunity

QBE Insurance are recruiting a IT Business Analyst to join a well-established Business Analytics team in our London office. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to make a significant impact in a leading insurance company. Understanding the business needs and desired outcomes remains of upmost importance and will be key to the next phases of our growth.

In this role you will support the delivery of change to the business by leading or participating in activities that enable assessment of business need, capture requirements, design of appropriate solutions and delivery of those solutions to deliver value safely and efficiently. You’ll act as interface and point of liaison between the business and the IT team to undertake analysis into designated areas from a business solution, IT system or process perspective to identify problems, challenges or opportunities.

Your New Role

Putting the Customer at the centre of the role with intimate understanding and anticipation of customer needs and priorities

Collaborate with Stakeholders, Product Owners, Developers, Testers, Scrum Masters, Solution Architects and Project Managers to assist in the implementation of change, to support the achievement of business objectives and delivery of value

Analyse and challenge business problems and opportunities to develop a deeper understanding of our customers’ needs

Understand the business and technology vision and strategy to prioritise and align key outcomes

Be purposeful and pragmatic in how you plan and approach analysis activities with clearly defined outcomes

Lead or deliver such analysis activities, this may include but is not limited to:

Breaking down a business problem into units of work such as Epics or High-Level Business Requirements

Breaking down Epics or High-Level Business requirements into smaller units of work such as User Stories or Business Requirements / Functional Requirements

On-going management and refinement of requirements, such as on a product backlog

Capturing and communicating Non-Functional Requirements for solutions

Supporting the validation of solutions delivered against acceptance criteria, contributing to test planning, execution, coordination, etc.

Creating as-is and to-be process maps or contribute to target operating model definition

Data analysis and definition, e.g. to inform decision making or developing data dictionaries / data models

Working with Architects or Development teams to produce appropriate design specifications

Continuously review and assess solution delivery to ensure it will meet business requirements

Embrace, challenge and evolve standards and practices around ways of working

Drive continuous improvement within scrum or project teams through active participation in all ceremonies and meetings, embracing psychological safety to speak up

Prioritize workload and balance/escalate conflicting demands to ensure agreed deadlines are achieved

Contribute to active risk management through raising, reviewing, monitoring and supporting the resolution of risks and issues
