Job Description

Join Continental’s Research and Development IT Competence Center and be a part of our mission to revolutionize the tire development process with cutting-edge digital solutions. We need your expertise to elevate our virtual development process to new heights!

You will play a crucial role in enhancing our in-house developed framework, aimed at making complex simulation and prediction methods accessible through a standardized and user-friendly web application.

Your main challenge will be to bridge the gap between Engineering and IT, evolving our microservice-based backend and integrating it with existing scientific workflows. You will work in a global team, collaborating with colleagues from around the world to create innovative solutions.

Main Responsibilities:

Develop and implement concepts for our existing Java Spring web applicationsCollaborate closely with front-end team members and engineers to create seamless solutionsTake ownership of developing test code and test scenarios to ensure high-quality deliverablesEfficiently debug and resolve technical issues to maintain smooth operationsFollow Scrum/Agile methodologies to organize and plan projects effectivelyContinuously improve and optimize backend systems for better performance and scalability

QualificationsUniversity degree in Computer Science or related subject areaAdvanced knowledge in developing Java web applicationsProficiency in using IntelliJ, Git/GitHub, and JenkinsExperience with the Spring FrameworkFamiliarity with Apache Camel is a plusExperience with Python and/or MATLAB is a plusExperience working with microservice architecture is a plusStrong ability to communicate effectively with software development team members and engineersFluent English language skills (written and spoken)Good organizational skills and attention to detailPassion for innovation and a proactive approach to problem-solving
