About the Role
This position is responsible for ensuring integrity, security, compliance and efficiency of an organization’s technology systems, processes and controls in accordance with the approve AIA Group Policies. Their role is crucial in mitigating risks, ensuring regulatory compliance, and enhancing operational effectiveness through framework design and strategic approaches.The assurance process is in place as an independent reviewer and assessor across all technology projects against the mandatory standards.
This role is crucial in maintaining the quality of integrity of products or services, ensuring that governance framework is adhered to, and driving continuous improvement across the entire organization.
Responsibilities:
1. Governance Framework and DevelopmentDevelop and implement the Technology Governance & Assurance framework, and procedures across AIA MY and respective portfolios.Ensure alignment with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and internal best practices.Continuously review and update governance processes to ensure relevance and effectiveness at an organization / enterprise level.Assist in ensuring that applicable policies and procedures are defined across all Portfolios.2. Agile Delivery Governance & Assurance
Ensure delivery conformance to the governed standards, policy and agile methodology.Implement mitigation strategies and lead audits to assess delivery effectiveness based on the defined agile methodologyProvide strategic solutions across all technology platforms and technology delivery life cycle based on the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) standardsFunction as an independent assurance team to provide feedback and analysis to senior stakeholdersInfluence and a change catalyst to respective portfolio to ensure agile and delivery methodology are adhere to base on the enterprise standards and framework defined.To advice and collaborate with portfolio delivery teams on best practices and methods to enhance their delivery effectiveness and communication gap3. Compliance and Risk ManagementEnsure that governances processes comply with regulatory, legal, and contractual obligations or documented strategy.Identify and assess potential risks related to quality and governance across Portfolios and supporting technology teams.Ensures that defined technology framework, and guidelines are followed across teams, identifying areas of non-compliance proactively and highlighting it to the team as well as senior stakeholder levels.Track and update quality metrics to monitor overall quality performance.Identify vulnerabilities and oversee security risk mitigation4. IT Controls and AssuranceSet and enforce high quality IT control standards across the Technology teamsPromote best practices in software and product testing, ensuring that testing methodologies meet industry benchmarks.Evaluate IT systems, applications and processes for security and reliabilityEnsure coherence to data protection policies and best practicesEnsure best practices in software development, change management and IT infrastructureRecommend enhancements in IT service management and DEVOPS practices.Assess or perform gap assessment as well as improve on IT operational processes and efficiencyLead initiatives for continuous improvement in quality processes and tools.5. Team Leadership and CollaborationManage, coach and/or mentor Technology teams by leadership, trainings, providing strategic solution and professional advice as well as instilling best practices
Collaborate with cross functional teams including development, operations, and business units to ensure governance framework is integrated into all stages of the project or delivery life cycle.
Act as a point of escalation for technology governance and assurance issues
6. Reporting and CommunicationProvide regular reports on technology assurance and performance, including key metrics, compliance issues, and improvement initiatives.Communicate governance updates, risks and action plans to senior management and stakeholders.Foster transparency and accountability within technology teams regarding adherence to the defined technology frameworkAudit and ReviewConduct periodic audits to ensure compliance with governance policies and identify areas for improvement.Collaborate with internal and external auditors to provide assurance on IT controls. (e.g. providing documentation and responses to audit findings)Implement corrective actions and ensure proper IT controls are in place and effective based on audit outcomes.Technology and Tools Management
Select and manage tools that support governance, quality management and testing processes.Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends, recommending tools that improve governance and efficiency.“Performs other responsibilities and duties periodically assigned by supervisor in order to meet operational and/or other requirements”
