Position: IT Applications Engineer

Type: Contract to Hire

Location: HYBRID - Madison, WI (2-3 days per week)

We are seeking an experienced IT Applications Engineer to serve as a technical resource contributing to the enterprise's strategic technology vision. The ideal candidate will contribute directly to technology architecture, software and integration development, and serve as a strategic business partner to internal teams.

Responsibilities

Business Relationships

Translate business needs into actionable IT strategies and solutions.Bridge the gap between technical capabilities and business requirements.Analyze existing systems and applications, identifying opportunities for improvement and integration.Serve as the technical lead for an association management platform.Design and recommend optimal business processes and technology solutions aligned with organizational goals and industry best practices.Build strong relationships with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and understanding of business needs.Facilitate clear communication between business units and IT stakeholders.

Strategic Planning

Develop and maintain a comprehensive technology strategy aligned with organizational mission..Promote innovative, efficient, and cost-effective technologies that support core functions and member experience.Contribute to long-term roadmaps for technology and business capabilities, anticipating future needs and trends.

Technical Expertise

Lead and manage enterprise architecture initiatives.Contribute to software development and system integration projects.Advise IT and business stakeholders on design, development, and deployment of information systems.Recommend technical solutions based on business needs and industry innovations.Produce technical documentation, architectural diagrams, and workflow charts.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Data Management, Computer Science, or related field.Minimum of 5 years of professional experience.3+ years of experience managing AMS/CRM systems.Expertise in AMS/CRM systems including workflows, data models, and integrations.Experience with modern integration tools (e.g., Boomi, Informatica, or Mulesoft preferred).Strong understanding of data security, integrity, and enterprise IT standards.Experience with system and data architecture, deployment methodologies, and infrastructure planning.Familiarity with enterprise system reporting tools and data platforms (e.g., Power BI, Snowflake preferred).Ability to lead and influence stakeholders across various levels of the organization.Ability to produce clear technical documentation and visual representations of architecture.
