IT Analyst - Applications

  

Role Definition:

Employs technology development processes and data analytics skills to take business needs from business process owners and develop procurement solutions that will allow buyers and external suppliers to efficiently perform their tasks.

What You Will Do:

Ability to analyze business requirements and define and document technology solutions.

Understanding software development and web technologies and having proficiency in SQL and other data programming languages.

Solve business problems by analyzing large sets of data of diverse formats stored in Snowflake based data warehouses.

Researching, designing, and documenting technology requirements at all points in the production life cycle.

What You Have:

Ability to analyze business requirements and define and document technology solutions.

Understanding software development and web technologies and having proficiency in SQL and other data programming languages.

Solve business problems by analyzing large sets of data of diverse formats stored in Snowflake based data warehouses

Researching, designing, and documenting technology requirements at all points in the production life cycle.

Skill Descriptors:

IT Development Process:

Defines epics, features, user stories, test scenarios, etc. to represent business needs.

Applies major tools and techniques associated with the agile methodology like Azure DevOps.


Application Design, Architecture:

Knowledge of basic activities and deliverables of application design

Ability to utilize application design methodologies, tools, and techniques to convert business requirements and logical models into a technical application design.

Data Analysis:

Acquires a large amount of data from various sources/systems.

Ability to analyze large sets of data to solve business problems.


System and Technology Integration:

Knowledge of the business capabilities and how those ties to system capabilities; ability to integrate and communicate among applications, databases, and technology platforms like Snaplogic, IBM ACE.

Explores key issues and considerations for successful system integration.

Works with applications, data, technology bridges and a variety of platforms.

System Testing:

Knowledge of system and software testing; ability to design, plan and execute system testing strategies and tactics to ensure the quality of technology solutions at all stages of the system life cycle.

Education/Experience: Degree or equivalent experience desired

Additional Info:

The primary location for this position is Peoria IL.

This role requires 5 days onsite.

Relocation is available.

Summary Pay Range:

$79,800.00 - $119,760.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
