Your role and responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIESThe IS service manager will be mainly responsible for overseeing the IS/IT programs/projects planning, development, implementation, and maintenance of the IS applications and infrastructure in ABB Motion Shanghai site. Your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of our IS applications and infrastructure to support our business objectives.Team Leadership and People Management– Lead and mentor Shanghai IS/IT team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, results-oriented and innovation– Manage direct reports (internal and external), providing guidance, performance evaluations, and professional development opportunities, setting stretching goals for self and team and delivering them with courage and tenacity– Being ambitious about providing the highest standards of delivery and embedding them in the teamStakeholder Management– Establish and maintain strong relationships with various business teams, becoming a trusted IS/IT advisor to the business– Effectively communicate IS/IT strategies, project progress, and risks to ensure business' support and understanding of IS/IT initiatives– Manage business expectations and ensure IS/IT services meet business needsIS/IT Programs/Projects Management and Delivery– Lead and manage IS/IT programs/projects from conception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with business objectives– Develop programs/projects plans, timelines, and track project progress– Identify and manage programs/projects risks, and develop and implement the mitigation plans– Communicate programs/projects status and progress to stakeholders to ensure the goals are achieved– Effectively resolve various issues encountered during programs/projectsApplication Management Services– Oversee the overall management of the Shanghai site IS applications, including implementation planning, design, implementation, operation, and optimization– Quickly respond to and implement new requirements to meet business expectations and market demands – Ensure high availability, performance, and security of IS application to meet business continuity requirements – Ensure continuous iterative optimization of IS applications, including technological and business functions upgrades, keeping pace with mainstream technological advancementsOperational Technology (OT) Architecture & Security – Work with factory team to define the OT architecture, technical specifications and standards in Shanghai site – Work with global and local team to implement OT cybersecurity program to protect critical manufacturing systems from cyber threats – Ensure compliance with cybersecurity regulations and best practices, including regular risk assessments, audits and vulnerability management Infrastructure Management and Optimization – Coordinate and manage the Shanghai site infrastructure, including cloud, desktop service, network, servers, storage, databases, etc. – Ensure high availability, performance, and security of IS infrastructure to meet business continuity requirements – Continuously optimize IS infrastructure to improve system efficiency and reduce costs

Qualifications for the role

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS – Bachelor’s degree or above in computer science or a related field – 8+ years of experience in IS/IT management, programs/projects management and delivery, software development, digital transformation, or a related field, preferably in the motors and drives industry – Excellent leadership and program/project management skills – Demonstrates a structured, inclusive approach to problem-solving, valuing diverse perspectives to deliver well-rounded and innovative solutions – Takes ownership of challenges and drives modernization, actively seeking input from team members across all levels and backgrounds – Naturally curious, approachable, and social, fostering relationships built on mutual respect and actively breaking down barriers to inclusion – Motivated by collaborating with people of varied backgrounds, experiences, and education levels, ensuring equity in opportunities and outcomes – Strong technical curiosity and a demonstrated ability to learn and apply new technologies – Deep understanding of IT software, hardware, networks, security, and operations, especially cloud computing (Microsoft Azure), server-less, Kubernetes, software development (Microsoft C#, frontend/back-end technology) – Strong knowledge of OT cybersecurity and regulatory requirements in manufacturing – Fluency in both written and spoken local language and English
